For the 156th issue, XXL takes it back to the essence with G-Unit. After six years apart, 50 Cent and crew have reunited and offer XXL an in-depth look at their breakup. G-Unit was shot by Tom Medvedich and interviewed by XXL’s Vanessa Satten, Miranda Johnson and Eric Diep at 50′s famed Connecticut mansion, which was the same place as the last XXL G-Unit cover (May 2008) and the last time the Unit members were all together.

In addition to the magazine cover story, XXL will release a definitive roundtable video interview with G-Unit next week and a collection of more original G-Unit videos in the following weeks.

On top of the special G-Unit package, the October/November 2014 issue also features special stories with Joey Bada$$, Cortez Bryant, Scarface and Royce da 5’9”, a tribute for Def Jam’s 30th anniversary, and a very talented Show & Prove section featuring Goldlink, Bobby Shmurda and Raury.

The October/November issue of XXL will be on stands everywhere on Oct. 17.

Oh god damnit OP, I honestly got excited about a new 50 Cent game. Blood on the Sand was amazing.

Gaming's greatest trilogy needs it's conclusion.

Where does it say last issue? I never got any mail about it being such.

XXL Magazine, the long-running publication that strived to deliver “hip hop on a higher level,” has been purchased by Townsquare Media, who has announced that its current print edition will be its last. Townsquare Media plans to continue the title in a digital-only format.

The company has acquired XXL Magazine from Harris Publications, which started the periodical in 1997. The full terms of the deal have not been made public.

Townsquare Media, owned by former AOL executive Bill Wilson, already has a hip hop content property, The Boombox. Despite the acqusition, Wilson states that the existing XXL staff will be offered positions with Townsquare, saving them perhaps from an all-out layoff.

Wilson states that XXL Magazine could still live in print, if only from time to time, but could also increase their footprint in the event space. He told the NY Post, “We think XXL has strong potential in both the digital and live events market.

Ben Harris, who began the title, was optimistic that the digital offerings they had incubated, could be amplified by Townsquare Media’s digital expertise.
We will continue to follow this story.

The real G-Unit was 50/yayo/banks

Everyone else was used to grab more sales in the south and West (hence why they were disposable)
