GAF… what’s an objectively “hard” part of any game that you breezed past first try no issues?! Mine was….

Anor Londo Archers. Never understood the pain many felt. And I've faced them 5 times or so. Never ONCE had a problem. Just bonk the knight on the corner and I'm done. Simple. Never ever had any issue.

I'm not good at video games either. Skill had nothing to do with it. It's overhyped to me. The entire community seems to hype it up as some "thing" and it's just not

(Not my pic. Just used to show the area)

[bloodborne dlc] I killed orphan of kos first try.
This was my first thought as well. I'm at best an average or above average 'Souls' player, certainly not highly skilled. But by the time I got to the end of the DLC I was just so locked in with my parries that Orphan gave me no trouble.

At least the first time. He's certainly given me trouble since then :D

Bought on PS4 near or at launch. Played an hour. Quit.

Much like me and DS1 on 360

So. I'm ashamed I've not played since.

My first REAL attempt at souls games was 2018 DSR

Now I'm hooked

Usually any hard platformers, like Celeste and Meat Boy.

But recently I've been crushing Star of Providence pretty hard, given the small amount of time I've put into it. I've got my bullet hell background to thank for that.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2007) had a bonus level and achievement called Mile High Club. You had to clear out a commercial plane in a certain time limit. It was pretty tough. I mention it because a friend of mine who is usually a god at any video game he plays took 6 hours worth of attempts to pass it. I managed to do it in about 30 minutes of attempts.

Dark Souls 2 and Bloodborne in general. I beat a number of bosses first try or in only a few tries, compared to some people online who struggled. It's all relative though, as there were bosses that I struggled hard with that other people beat no problem. Specifically I beat Rom, the Vacuous Spider in Bloodborne in like 7 minutes on my first try. I think I have a video of it from an old YouTube account... I do! It's terrible haha.

Bullet hell shooters scare me

Not a COD guy. WELL AWARE of the mile High deal being among the hardest challenges of ANY GAME ever. Well done. 👍 impressive.

You'd love RNG gamer on YouTube. His specialty is any and ALL shoot em ups. He's cool and low subs so he's not in it for money. Which makes him better
Cool, I'll check him out

I beat Malroth first time in DQ II and that game is savage as fuck. This was the mobile version even with QOL improvements.
Always wanted to get into DQ. Not sure where to begin at this point. They got like what? 10-12 games out now?! As someone who's heard of it. Never tried. No idea where to start

I remember people having a hard time with Blood-Starved Beast in Bloodborne. I got past that boss no problem and I suck at Souls games.
I'm shamefully bad at games in general. Souls games for sure. Yet DS1 just clicks for me. It's my happy place. I know NOW… how to play on "easy mode" if I want. Its brilliant. As I've said. DS1 for me is top 5 GOAT and for me, best game this century

Just wait for the remakes of I and II then just play them in order of I, II and III. Then after that you can play XI. VII, VIII and IX are stand alone IV, V and VI are considered another trilogy along with the first three.

V and VIII are probably the best ones. They'll get remakes or made easy access eventually, I just had the foresight to buy the DS games in 2009.

So wait first? Remakes on the way? Genuinely no idea here

Sekiro was very easy to me and was the first souls game I managed to finish. I'm not saying no one gave me issues but I legitimately could never beat any other souls game and always gave up. After Sekiro I went back and beat a lot of them.

The fact that it's so early in the game makes it even worse. This stage pretty much killed most kids' progression in the game at stage 3.

I 100% recall this back in the day. We did beat it. But took a while. We got to the ice stages and shit. We never got frustrated on this. We just knew it took timing is all. Don't recall us being stuck for "ages" or anything. Def tough

Yet I'm pretty decent at DS1 and Sekiro is kicking my ass. The parry precision REQUIREMENT has me. DS1 "wants" you to learn parry. But by no means it is required.

I skip them by just not playing them. Seems to work out well. That's my general strategy for any difficult games these days.

No time to git gud.

Hell yeah, I skipped black myth after finding out it's one of those. I thought it was an action adventure type originally.

I got hard filtered at the snakes, so it's not like my moment in the sun lasted very long.

Can't say we ever beat the game. It's possible. Don't recall. But 100% recall the ice stages. Well, well past the "hard part". We always plays 2-player as well. 100% of the time. Couch co op 1991 baby!

I absolutely beat the ever-loving shit out of that Jafar wannabe at the end of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

Frankly I'm surprised the IP got as popular as it did, considering probably less than 10% of the people that bought it actually beat the game. I'd love to retroactively have achievements and %'s for this game lol. It was disguised as a Double Dragon meets Ninja Turtles beat 'em up, but that's not what the game was at all, really.

Technically achievements exist (retro arch) and fuck no I've not done it lol 😂

But as 5-6 year olds. This wasn't a huge deal for us lol 😂 we'd just play whatever game we had for hours upon hours no sleep. Cause. Well. We could.

Truthfully we spent more time on the Battletoads vs Double Dragon beat em up in my memory lol 😂 the SNES follow up or whatever it was

We'd credit roll Contra and many more. It's what we did.

What's the easy mode? I go back to Demons Souls remake every now and then cause I love the graphics and gameplay and what not. Still haven't got past tower knight. Ha

For DS1. Easy mode is. Grab the Drake sword early on. Like second you get into the firelink shrine.

Start grinding either dex (for uchi and blood 🩸 loss) or strength for zweihander and snag havels ring and be a bonk boy

World is your oyster. You can be OP SO FAST in that game. Or you can punish yourself and make it hard as you want

Start with master key and skip blight town all together if ya want

Summon at most bosses

Etc

So many OP ways (I hear Magic is super OP. Not a fan myself. Never tried)

You can snag "write of kindling" second one as well. 20 estus flasks.

snag ring of favor and protection early. Havels ring. Grass crest shield. You're all setup for late game after 2 hours starting

The entirety of Super Ghouls'n Ghosts on SNES. I don't think it's as hard as Ghouls'n Ghosts on Genesis. I don't know why but it is the way it is.

To me Ghosts N Goblins on NES is next level and fuck no. Never beat it. You? And have you played the "remake"?
