I noticed lately that a lot of posters reply to certain topics within minutes of a new post... several times a day. It really does make me wonder if everybody here at GAF live at their PC desks. O__o

So I'm curious how and when do you guys browse the forums (or just the internet/other forums in general)? Do you check it out every hour? Every two hours? Or do you only have one specified session a day for it?

Also, how does it flow with the rest of your day? Like your studies, gaming, etc...

In my case, I do everything within a few feet of my PC so I check the forum all the time in little 5-10 minute sessions. I also study on the same desk which is a horrible combination-- I check out my subscribed topics after finishing a section or a bunch of HW problems. I guess you could say I live at my PC desk.

it's usually what I do in my dorm room, check out internet stuff, although I'll also have the TV tuned to CSPAN, Fox News, PBS, etc....

yeah, sometimes I try to do homework while on the net, but can get pretty distracted reading stuff online, anything from politics to gaming related websites and columns. I don't read blogs, just generally a few topics in the gaming forum, one or two in OT, and articles from newspapers and columnists.

Well, over this weekend I sort of have been perched right here all weekend long. The main reason being that I was planning on writing a paper all weekend and just kept on not doing it. But since I was always "about to start writing" I pretty much ended up sitting here for a large percentage of the weekend kind of by accident.

My weekend has mostly consisted of GAF and torturing myself by reading the World of Warcraft forums. >_<

Its time to play the music (not you Diablos)
Its time to light the lights
Its time to meet the Gaffers on the Gaming-Age tonight.

Its time put on makeup (Orin, ketchup is not makeup)
Its time to dress up right
Its time to raise the curtain on the Gaming-Age tonight

It's scary how much time I spend on here. I usually visit the forum up to 4 hours a night. I mostly read threads and only post occasionally.

Honestly though, big ditto with what everyone is saying. I was thinking of making a thread like this the other day... GAF is freaking addicting. :(

My PC is in the living room and on 24/7, so I tend to browse shit on and off all day while my sons at school.

Nearly all of my work is evening work (3-6pm start to 1-2am finish depending on the venue, length of soundcheck etc.)

Haha, as long as I'm home I'm always on GAF nowadays. Maybe not present at the computer at all times, but since the computer is at the entry of my living room I just stop for a while, press F5 and quickly check if something interesting has come up or if someone replied to my replies. And I'm at home quite a lot right now, which in turn results in me hanging around here too much. :D

When I am not playing at home I usually stay in front of the PC, when I am working IU am in front of a PC, and 50% of the time at the University I am in front of a PC (computer engineering student).
That basically means I am browsing GAF nearly all the day.

I'm here whenever i'm on the 'net it seems :p. Though I do take breaks once in a while, then I miss this place, and jump back in gleefully :).

For the past two weeks.. I check it every few minutes from work. If you're wondering, I work security. Then I go home.. and use it again every once and a while.

Any period where I am in a computer lab at school, I check it, which is several periods a day. I also check it at home when I get home from work. Seems like my life is school, crappy minimum wage job, and GA forums.

At work for the whole summer, I was constantly compiling code, and it often took 5-15 minutes. When I was compiling, I couldn't do much, so I browsed GAF.

As of right now, I'm back in school, and I'm just too lazy to get off my but and do some homework.

I check gaf quite a bit usually because i have nothing better to do or I'm just procastinating. Still i definately think its contributed to my internet addiction

I don't own a computer. I only post from work, where I check the forums regularly 9 - 5, Mon. - Fri. When I arrive at the office Monday morning, my first priority is always getting caught up on the backlog of posts from the weekend.

My PC is always on so whenever I am home, GAF is open even if I am not necessarily doing any reading of it at that moment. When I'm at work, I can be on the computer so I check it from there also.

I only seem to be here when I have something else I should be doing.

It's funny... I spend my free time with more regular persuits (girlfriend, friends, games, movies), but I'm here the time I should be studying/working, which means when I finally finish what I SHOULD be doing, I've got no free time left and I'm back here, putting off my next assignment/task.

Vicious cycle.

At work, I check here at least once every hour or so, but don't reply most of the time because that takes too much time. On my days off, I just check here once or twice a day. I think ideally the best way to go about it is to check GAF only once per day before one goes to sleep so it doesn't intrude on one's life more than it should :) *Puts on bullet proof vest*

I'm on whenever I'm supposed to be researching for a paper. Call it cross research.

I'm also on in the evening while watching a film or something.

that's what i'm doing right now. paper is due at 2pm, and all i have is the title. it's an easy assignment, too. i'll probably start at 11 or so...

It's frustratingly addictive. At work, I'm always on the PC checking credit or interest rates, and like a fool I've made it my home page there like it is at home. The upside is the constant activity, news and online gaming friends. The downside is the hype that's made me buy more games than I have any business owning.

GAF saved many nights for me during the summer, when I was working night shifts at a steel plant. Next to nothing happening at work, but there was a computer there. And because of the time difference, night in Sweden meant evening in the US. And thus, the hours passed by quickly. :p

Dorm room life has caused me to spend a lot of my free time in front of my little gaming/TV/computer setup, even now that I'm out of the dorms. So I check every so often.

I'm not working atm, so I have tons of time to surf the web, and this is my favorite site.

Strangely enough, I keep up with current events through the OT forum, because as soon as something happens, I can be sure it will get a thread here.

It's amazing what someone will do to get out of that little closet with dim light. FYI, it's not an office dude.
