So here's how it's going to go, every 3 days 3 songs, whenever I announce what songs for that day that's when the competition for those songs officially starts and it'll last for roughly 2 days (with a day between the old and the new songs).

Ninja Mono and Polychromatic modes will be separate. Elite! Due to popular demand, Ironmode will be dropped.

Points will be taken on a per song basis:

1st: 10 points
2nd: 8 points
3rd: 6 points
4th: 5 points
5th: 3 points
6th 2 points
7th: 1 point

I'm going to take the GAME compilation, redo the ID3 tags so that there's a top 10 for Ninja Mono and the other modes, so be sure to download both if you want to do both.

This will start on Monday (the 10th). All the songs will be taken from the GAME Compilation so be sure to download it.

The new songs starting March 13 are Fusebox - Outrunnin, m0dus - One life Left, and x5z Stage Run.

Those have the ID3 tags changed already. If you already have the compilation and don't care to download, change the artist tag to GAFCompColors and GAFCompNinjaMono for the respective mode.

This challenge will last until noon Wednesday the 12th.

Have a blast dudes! If you play colors, you can use any mode, even double vision so long as you do it solo. There's no way to prove you did it solo or not, so this is on the honor system. Don't be a douche, holmes.

1) Create new ID3 tags for the songs and put them up the day of or a few hours before.

This is actually a really great idea. Not just for protection, but for using more popular music in future competitions as well.

2) Require datestamped (just using the windows clock on the bottom right) Screenshots in windowed mode.

I think this is just unnecessary work given the tagging "protection".

The top 7 or so scores for the songs that day get some points and we add all those up and keep track of who's leading overall and that shiz. At the end of the tournament the person with the highest amount of points wins.

I would say that calculation of PPM would be a good thing to factor in here for multiple songs. Maybe have two separate categories? Highest overall PPM and highest overall score? There wouldn't be that much of a difference, but it would mean that someone couldn't win the entire thing just by doing amazing on one long, block-filled song. Obviously, you want to recognize that, but I think the PPM highlights consistency.

I also think that double vision should be outlawed.

Oh I forgot to mention that I was planning on splitting up Ninja Mono and the rest of the modes. Outlawing Double Vision's not a bad idea either.

I think that a date-stamped screenshot is slightly less convenient. Uploading a screenshot takes more time than changing the ID3 tag. Then again, some people might like to have their high scores on the "official" song tag, so I don't really know.

Oh hey that's a good point. Shame the game doesn't keep track of all scores, but that might be insane.

Should probably also wait until the servers completely stabilize, or, alternatively, go the screenshot-only route. They were working for me earlier today, but who knows how long that will last.

Yep. Just played it again, I think there's a problem somehow with the track or Audiosurf. Instead of saying the track name after the song is over, it says "Personal best for --". The only other score for the song is from player "NewBootGoofin" on Pro difficulty.
