Giving Joe a second chance, since I pawned my GC copy eons ago just before finishing it. Currently up to Stage 3 on Adults with Dante(used a code to unlock him right away), having a pretty good time. I really dig Dante's extended sword reach and his guns allow a bit more juggle opportunities than Joe during Slo-mo. Game also looks pretty great on PS2, even without Pro-scan, the image is crisp and clean.

What's with the backwards voices though? Is my copy glitched, or is there some inside joke I'm not getting?

Viewtiful Joe rocks. Not sure about VJ2 since I haven't played it yet. It's a shame these games didn't sell well, but I'm glad Capcom is still keeping the series alive with the anime and the new portable games

Speaking of which, Clover confirmed Viewtiful Joe DS will be playable at E3. The PSP version will appear in a trailer

I never beat the Magnicifent 5 level years ago, wasn't really liking the game all that much then anyway, gonna make sure I do it this time. I'm strangely attracted to it now though, feels really cool doing a major slo-mo combo juggle against 6 scrubs, especially nailing one or two with a bullet from E&I as they fall back to the ground.

I didn't realize VJ1 had so many characters to unlock and play as either! Inputting the instant-Dante code also unlocked about 4 others to use. The Viewtiful World video was....weird and unintelligible.

VJ on V-Rated mode drove me insane. I lost count on how many wavebirds I went through. :lol I finished it, but it sure was painful. VJ 2 on V-Rated was much easier, but still a pain.

Anyway, it's a real shame the games didn't sell because they really do offer some great gameplay, and some great humor. Glad that Capcom is still suporting VJ though.

I'm at the Magnificent Five on V-Rated. I stopped playing a year or so ago. Another Joe kept owning me. I should give it another run... I know I can clear V-Rated.

i picked up viewtiful joe 2 a while back, and i mean to replay the first one as well. just got one of those hori gc pads, which should certainly help.

Uh, it won't. You need to use the C stick for slo motion I believe.

Edit I mean Zoom.

I preferred just sticking with the B-button for Zoom anyway on GC. Didn't like futzing with the c-stick myself. On PS2, I just use circle button zoom instead of R-stick or even R2 as well.

Just plowing through this game, already up to Alastor. That slow, zoomed punch is just crazy powerful.

$20? Mmmm, I should get those... Capcom addiction... rising... from the dead... ooo RE4 I should get that too....
