Why does this matter? Who gives a shit why someone started rapping. If he makes good music, I'll fuck with it. How many rappers these days are doing it just to get paid? How is that any better than doing it for attention?

I mean, are you saying that you've never tried something for the first time and realized only afterwards that you liked it? For example, let's say your girl drags you with her to see some live theatre and the only reason you're going is to get some pussy. If you end up liking it and going to see more live theatre, are you a bad person for initially going to get some ass?

I feel like people are only turning on LD because it's about that time to do it, he's old news or whatever

Edit: I probably shouldn't assume that you're only talking about why he started doing it. My bad.

It would be some mindblowing shit if Flying Lotus did a beat for Drake/Future. The world would explode.

In my general experience non instrumental Flylo causes either his beats to suffer or the lyricist to suffer.

Also I'd rather just get Captain Murphy than any collabs. Maybe they could feature on his release than the other way around. I'm tired of him losing all his beats to other shops.

Did you read the article? It's more about Lil Dicky's ignorant views on rap rather than how he got into it. You can get into rap and be a rapper however you want, but once you started saying some misguided shit like this:

"UNLESS YOU’RE AN EXTREMELY STUPID PERSON THAT BEGAN LIFE AS A POOR, VIOLENT MAN, ONLY TO SEE YOUR FORTUNES TURN ONCE YOU STARTED RAPPING, YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO RELATE TO 99 PERCENT OF TODAY’S RAP MUSIC.” LIL DICKY'S BLOG

and then claim you're an 'underdog' and 'outsider' that is gonna rise to the top as one of the GOATs, then you're gonna sound like an idiot. He's just another dude getting into it with no prior knowledge or love for the craft and you can tell by his awful fucking music.

[Yeah, well, I only recently started rapping as a joke, and honestly I wasnt even that into it, I just wanted the attention...Hip hop is ignorant, unless youre violent thug you cant relate to it. But I'm here to save the game. *bites flow of gangsta rappers*]

I feel you though Vorheez even any one of those statements alone wouldnt be SO dead-end terrible, especially not that he only started for whatever reasons, but that one statement...and then everything together...combined with the fact that he works for snoop, wants to work and be peers with the people he is throwing shade at so ignorantly, is new to the game, has no original flow but considers himself one of the greatest alive, etc....hes a mess.

I hate seeing people like that given access/cosigns. Damn shame people can't say you know what, fuck you - no features. Freeze them out.

His comments mirror the views of a lot of people who don't respect hip hop as music - unless a white guy is doing it of course. Or unless it's a MBDTF/TPAB type album with enough varied instrumentation to convince them it's actually music. Not to mention the assumption that all rappers are uneducated street scum who got lucky making music. Not to mention him comparing his "struggle" to people who actually struggled. Nah.

Here's what they think about you.

Bumping this Dangerous Dame album for my 1995 reviews of No Limit albums...this shit is really not good at all. Shit is giving me the bitter beer face, but I will pull through.

I didn't say shit about that, hell I didn't say anything at all, fuck lil dicky for being a cunt about the music he is gaining his success on. He is Ke$ha tier in my eyes now.

If I said "I hate that lil dicky only did this to get famous," then I'd hate every other rapper that does it for the fame as well. But I didn't.

I feel like people are only turning on LD because it's about that time to do it, he's old news or whatever
A) Lil Dicky is not that great, Lonely Island does that shit better with some type of love for the genre
B) Just because you still like Lil Dicky does not mean I have to infinitely love the dude, I can turn on him whenever I want.

Edit: I probably shouldn't assume that you're only talking about why he started doing it. My bad.
No, fuck lil dicky and not reading articles

I'm super late, but this Dre album is great. Using the movie to put this album out because he "can't handle the pressure" of putting the name detox on an album is kinda lame. I do love this album though. Production knocks and it has that crisp sound Dre does so well. Needs a car test but listening to it with headphones has been nice for the last week or so.

The usual suspects of features and these new guys I've never heard of, all do what you'd expect the rapping to be like on a Dr Dre album. I listen to Dre music for the production more so than the rapping, and this album just sounds good overall.

How was it received around here?

I really like it. Had a lot fun blasting it at parties in the last weeks. Animals is one of my SOTYs.

Fuck DOOM
Fuck RAP

Also if you compare this dre album to his last you'll notice some real key elements are missing (singles, some of the biggest rap songs of all time). It's a different album for sure, but disssapointing overall.

Compton's Dre's worst solo, even if it's a much more consistent album overall than 2001.

2001 fell off on that second half whereas Compton never really has definite low points. 2001's high points are way way way way way higher than Compton's though.

Still a solid record for being an off the cuff "I'm bored so let me jump in the studio and throw some shit together" album. Sounds terrific even though its a lot more understated and nuanced than typical Dre production.

And Battlecat said Dre still has one left in the chamber.

...well, shit

How was it received around here?

super mixed, which is honestly what it deserves - dre's all over the place, and it's not for everybody the way some of his prior efforts might've felt. siddx sung its praises like AOTY, others already forgot about it. i dug parts of it but im not even sure it'll make my top 10, honestly

look to rappers for social views brehs
there's really no walking back calling the trans community "evil", might as well own the L and just keep it movin i guess

Listen to trash artists and wonder why you find music so disposable brehs

Don't ask me how

Yup. You have to cultivate some awareness that you'll be using one hit singles for a cheap bump. Fill your crates with gold and you'll find things stay in rotation enough that the dust never develops.

So is What a time to be alive gonna be available at 12am EST?

http://hypetrak.com/2015/09/drake-reveals-release-date-for-what-a-time-to-be-alive-mixtape-with-future/

After much speculation in the past week or so, Drake took to Instagram today to confirm his latest mixtape project with Future titled What a Time to Be Alive. Despite so much attention being placed on the fact the mixtape’s album art was purchased directly from Shutterstock, the hype surrounding this release is likely certainly strengthen Apple Music’s position as a contender to other music services. “What a Time to Be Alive” will be released on iTunes this Sunday, September 20 at 8 p.m. EST.

Same time as his Beats show right?
