that first mafia example is kind of dumb because it can be logically concluded, as doc you should always heal the cop, ensuring the additional check is better than getting a save.

As mafia you should kill someone who isnt the cop, you could hit doc and are much less likely to target the same person the doc targets.

How many weeks do we think DR has left? I'm going on a vacation the second weekend of October, so I'm actually kind of hoping there's some time left, so that Season 4 will start after I come back. (Although if it starts before, I will make it work.)

Found some of the mafias I used to host many many years ago. It was a smaller board with unconventional setups. There were about 200-400 posts for an entire game, when half a day in GAFia hits that amount.

I agree. I might be mistaken but I think MafiaScum.net placed a premium on personal survival in a way most of our players don't.

I would say turboing isn't really in town's best interests, and looking back I think I would've put it a bit higher than 50% + 1 (thinking seven votes for 10 people would've been pretty good). Chatreux did have a distinct posting style, so I imagine for some, that tipped off some suspicions.

But this game is heavily skewed towards scum when it comes to bandwagons. It relies on being able to analyse behavior from players, and I think that can only really be done after a few days looking at how people post.

So for now, I'll call it

In the archer game I made a rather memorable and ridiculed comment about someone being soaked or rather, about them not being soaked. I thought he was trying to identify me by wetwet.\

dr..... id say about one week left, two at the most? considering the shorter day/night phases, that is~ then, if last off season was anything to go by, .... there was a break of about a week or two, plus the sign up window of a couple of weeks, i'd say there was about a month gap, maybe? between the end of season and the start of the new one.

To be fair, if we hadn't lynched the doctor then, we would have lynched our cop, which would have been waaaaay worse, especially if you consider that town actually didn't lose the ability to protect someone, it just moved to me. So in hindsight, we really did manage to pick the lesser of two evils there.

Awesome job kitties! The thing i find most fun about this type of game is not only guessing who the scum is, but guessing who everyone else is too. Everyone has a very unique style.

When do the sign ups begin anyway? Are we waiting for Dangapapa to finish? Because I don't really see any issue with already accepting sign ups for season 4 while one game is still going.

This would be my preference for the main Seasonal games:

0. Post mortem for any needed rules changes, feedback, etc.

1. Figure out who wants to run games in the new season, including theme, restrictions, gimmicks, but do not pick games yet.

2. Post thread in Off-Topic for recruitment purposes, leave it there for X days/weeks.

3. Have all interested players vote on which of the games they would prefer. i.e. if we're going to play 3 games, have them pick 3 from a list.

4. Top 3(or whatever) games get players distributed as evenly as possible among them, leaving some players as replacements.

5. Game Moderators now balance their game with assistance from other chosen moderators and backups.

6. Players may arrange 1:1 trades between games.(This step I care least about, but I don't think it would be a problem

7. Players get assigned roles.

8. Games start.

Once enough players have died, people can host side games like we have been doing, which can ignore some of these rules for expediency, though do try and give players 24-48 hours to show interest. I would also prefer if players stuck to a single game while they're alive, unless it's needed for replacement purposes specifically.
