IMO, regardless of the talent level (within reason), stepping up and beating good teams like LSU, Texas or a few others is doable when emotion gets involved and they make mistakes. That is if Arkansas is playing with a pulse. The machine that Saban built was much less likely to make those mistakes (and stacked with talent). Even though I know it was coach speak a lot of the time, he still set a standard to not overlook an opponent. I would hear him build up a team like Arkansas game week and could not keep from rolling my eyes but there was still a message getting through. I know he has moved on but DeBoer has him on speed dial (if he even needs it, he has his own successful career).
As for Arkansas, mid-tier. That is all I am looking for. You know? Not the embarrassment since the Hog hit the ditch. It has really been a comedy of coaching decisions. I think Bielema was the best shot at a good hire and it didn't even work out. Then when the foundation tried to get out of paying him, it got even more embarrassing.
