Love this to pieces but I think you should crop it so the stripe of sea is more centered. Dig the layering though.

Yeah, I think it's the general rule of thirds notion but sometimes it's okay to try to get perfect symmetry, especially if an image is so clean like yours. Either way, it's still awesome.

So, I might be tripping but I took a photo with my iphone and it looks "3D". And it's not just me, my friend and brother agree it's "3D" as well. I haven't tested it on another device. I have an iphone 5 so I don't know If it will replicate on another display. If you have an iphone 5 check it out.

Thanks Damaged! That is probably one of favorite pictures I've ever taken. Not sure if it's cheating but it was an art installation on an island near Dubrovnik. A large room was pitch black except for a line of light going around the interior. The light was supposed to represent the horizon line. That area was a corner of the room so that's why the point is angled.
Not cheating at all! I think the framing of the woman with the light really makes the image. Kind of makes me think of something you would see in 2001 or some other sci fi film

Hmmmm, I'd definitely be interested in that in a class. I never took basic photo classes. Only ever focused on photo-journalism aspects.

Hey Photography GAF! I'm incredibly amateurish when it comes to photography. I know some of the ins and outs and have had a long time to fiddle with my father's DSLR. It's come time for me to start taking it more seriously though, so PLEASE offer up some tips? I've got access to the Canon 6D and 7D.
Also, a quick question. Me and my girlfriend want to go take some really nice nature shots together, just the two of us. What would be the best way to take shots with both of us in them without having a third person?

Since you said you have access to a 6D, try using the EOS Remote tethering app with an iOS or Android phone (if you have a phone with either of these operating systems).
Otherwise, frame the shot with your camera on a tripod beforehand, & use the Canon RC-6 wireless remote.
The RC-6 should work with both the 6D & 7D.
Help me, PhotoGAF! I'm working on some wedding photos, and one portion (the groom with his groomsmen) is plagued by a weird effect (purple/green discoloration) that I've been unsuccessful at removing in photoshop. It's present in the RAW files.

I don't think I've ever seen colored moire before... Lightroom5 has a more reduction brush, does your version of CameraRaw have the same?

I took these pictures at the Bronx Zoo last week. The animals were all pretty active due to the cooler weather.

I got an Epson V700. One of their high end models. I love it.
I love scanning my prints so I get that natural border that the enlarger left on the paper:
Also scanning batches of negatives at the same time is a work of art itself:
Right off the scanner with just contrast adjustment in PS like you would have with a filter on an enlarger:
I'm with Damaged on the staircase, awesome framing. Those scanned negatives are really awesome too!

Well I processed my first few rolls of film at home today! forgot how much fun it was, Im going to be shooting allot more film now I can do it Sadly my Nikon FE has developed pretty bad light bleed and my sister has my Olympus OM1n so im stuck using an Olympus Trip 35 for my 35mm. Will be cracking out the Bronica soon though!
