thanks for the replies, I would like to get some sort of wide angle lens, make things easier, wouldn't have to take as many shots.

only after taking the pictures did I realize I had such great reflections, so I salvaged what I could.

Try to find a lens that suits your needs, but be prepared they can be expensive

About the last picture invest in some polarized filter, it work miracles in reflections, blown out surfaces and the sky.

see if you can get that through university, because your photos can improve a lot if you use raw and edit on lightroom

Great news for me, they do. It's part of a bigger Adobe suite we can get, yay. No idea how to use it, but I'm sure I will watch some vids and see what is up with that. Just stuck it on auto white balance haha. Need to get out of my house and take real pics.

You can find on youtube many video tutorials that will send you in the right track, but exploring the software it's the best way to learn.

Thankyou :D

If I'm reading this right, it looks like this lens would be compatible/have auto-focus with my D5000?

Also looking at the Rokinon.

Both the Tokina and Sigma will auto focus, personally I tried both and preferred the Sigma so ended up buying that. The little bit extra range in focal length was the selling point, that said they were both very nice and I have seen great results with either lens.

I need a tip how do I avoid glare around the moon? Tomorrow it's supermoon night and I want to take some photos but the glare make it almost impossible

If you have Photoshop I would recommend taking several exposures and combining using the HDR algorithms. I'm going to be trying something similar to capture the star field of a section of the milky way behind the moon in the same shot. I'm also going to try to photograph Comet Jacques tonight.

Some pictures from a wedding earlier today, luckily I wasn't the main photographer, that is at the end of the month. Criticism is welcome. :D

EDIT: Might upload more later, had a difficult time photographing today. It was high contrast setting between direct sunlight and the shade. I'm sure there are neat tricks to help with that though.

A few I took today, some better than others

Took 6 shots at different exposures going to post processing now, let's see how it worked

edit:

You have to take some with everything but the moon way under exposed, then some with the foreground good and the moon way overexposed. It seems you only got the over exposed shots.

I took two underexposed, the problem was the overexposed ones that took long time and in the end the moon moved in the sky creating ghost
