Amazing. Love your style, added you on flickr.

Been trying some panoramas lately, I really need a better tripod as mine is pretty bad for these types of shots. But I was happy with how this turned out, taken very early this morning and stitched together from 30+ shots:

beautifull

next OP should have a list of people's flickr profiles. kinda like the film thread has links to everyone's reviews. what do you guys think?

love that pano, pringles. it's funny how much frost can desaturate an image lol

don't sound like a bad idea :D

EDIT:

First time trying one of these late night shots; was out in the cascades for this. Surprised I was able to see that much on 30 sec exposure, that said the quality of it is pretty bad, not sharp and full of noise. Also you can prolly tell where it has been stitched together, I don't know of any fancy panoramic script/plugin for GIMP so I stitch/mask them all together. In total about 10 shots.

Thanks guys, glad you like it. This time of year is just the best in terms of light and colors. If not for work I'd be out shooting at sunrise every day between now and October.

It would be cool to have one of those fancy spreadsheet things with people's 500px/flickr/etc profiles..

Yes, that's me! Thanks so much. I have a short story in the Sword & Laser Anthology called "A Night for Spirits and Snowflakes", and I'm also working on a novel and more short fiction. You can find my (short) bibliography here. :)

So as not to derail this thread too much, here's another shot from my recent trip to London:

Here is another one from my recent hiking trip.

I decided to go ahead and set up a 500px account; thinking about wanting to get serious about photography. Also I'm shooting a wedding this Sunday; getting little nervous as I have never shot a wedding before and I'm not skilled or anywhere near as talented as everybody in this thread.

This one feels very ominous; like staring into a gaping hole/void in the earth.

Some Abstracts.

love the angle and expression :D

it's kind of that, it's a gaping hole in the water, it's a dam sink hole. I always love that structure it's enormous and make me fell very small and how our ingenuity as human beings can create. On a more personal level my grandfather worked in the dam construction, make me understand some of his sacrifices during construction time and how that shape my family.

Thanks, It is basically this http://youtu.be/rqQSlEViNpk

Although I use drawing inks rather than food colouring. In editing I invert the colours a tinker with it from there.

I usually film and edit these sessions http://vimeo.com/79044643

okay so that's how you got the milk to look black? this is really cool. i'm gonna try this at some point this week. is there a reason you use drawing inks instead of food coloring?

@aidan sweet, man. i'm gonna check that out. looking forward to your new stuff as well!

friggin love this one

Some shots from last week; exploring life living in a busier more populated area. I don't have monitors set up so these were edited on my TV; hopefully the colors aren't too crazy. Both are stitches of multiple images.

It is.

Here's a before and after.

Actually, I used food colouring in the above shots but there is a greater range of colour in drawing inks.

Just throwing everything in is half the fun :D

You guys are awesome!

Im a photo noob so be kind :D
Guess Flickr doesnt like sharing on forums..

both those a really good :D I'm shooting my first wedding this weekend any tips or advice?

1. get extra batteries, a battery grip and plenty of memory cards
2. you should have at least two lenses, something like a 28-75mm and a 70-200mm. Group shots will require a wider lens for sure.
3. shoot everything. if its an important moment, shoot it 3 times just in case
4. also take candids, background stuff, party guests, the food, the decorations, etc.
5. relax and don't stress out. you'll be fine :)

You're not going to be as [good as Heist on your first shoot, but you should definitely check out his blog as well as other wedding photographers for ideas!

Cool shots squared, how do you get that look in the colours?

Thank you :) Curves and hue/saturation sliders in Camera Raw! These are examples of photos only edited with Camera Raw, but for other types I mostly use Photoshop, like in this example:

With photos like this, I adjust exposure and shadows/highlights in Camera Raw when opening the photo in PS, then go on to do the rest in PS itself.

Like Tugatrix said, all those shots are really awesome; neat colors and such. I really need to get PS and CR, its amazing the things you can do in those programs. I've been using GIMP.

Thankyou! :D Yeah I got the lenses, would be nice to have a second camera so I wouldn't have to change them constantly and a battery grip is something that I have been needing to get, camera has power for about little over a day being constantly used and have plenty of bats for flash.

My big concern is being able to relax and compose shots decently, I despise weddings but I need to get people to feel comfortable around me for those candids. Plus i'm not that good with having people pose so I'm thinking about bringing a little cheat sheet to help inspire me when it comes to coming up with creative poses for the bride and groom.
