I got this thing last January and for 6 months all was well. It was sometime in June that things started to go all wrong!
Whenever I log on to the 'net, the bytes sent and received skyrocket! Even if I'm not doing anything! It's constant to. And the amount that go through is pretty insane for friggin 56k o.o;; What's worse is that because the flow is so strong it isn't long until my isp kicks me offline.
I check the task manager and no new processes startup or anything after logging on. So I've narrowed it down to a process that's always on. explorer.exe. After I'm online the thing jumps from a memory usage of 18k to over 40k!
I've been able to survive by ending the explorer.exe process and then starting it back up with the run command. When I do that, all is fine. No data flow if I'm idle and the thing is back to it's usual 18k mem usage. But having to basically nuke windows after every logon to the 'net has taken it's toll on me and I want things back to the way they used to be!
Please! What has gone wrong and how can it be fixed -_-???
