Anyway, another fun fact - funnel web venom is deadly to primates, but will leave other mammals pretty much unaffected.
(edit) Oh, and that GIF was from a spider being milked for it's venom. So whilst it's slightly terrifying, keep in mind that this particular spider was our bitch.

I believe they last a year or two when kept for milking - longer than if they manage to find a mate, in which case the female will eat them.
I heard about it when this recent news story emerged a week or so ago about an unusually large funnel web that was handed in.
