Bad timing. I'm actually taking a course right now about ideologies and my opinion will probably be a lot different by the time I'm done. There's not much that I didn't already know OF, but seeing some things argued in an abstract, objective way is pretty enlightening. Done with liberalism, conservativism, and fascism -- next come the commies!

I'll take it right now for a comparison later on

"Mothers may have careers, but their first duty is to be homemakers."

Amen to that :D

Anyway, this is what I got:

Economic Left/Right: 2.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.79

Economic Left/Right: -6.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.13

I'm disturbingly close to Gandhi in their chart.

Edit: Hey actually it'd be a cool thing if we plotted everyone in this thread and saw where everybody fit.

Economic Left/Right: -5.63
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.05

Azih I think I'm close to Ghandi than you are. ;)

Economic Left/Right: -4.63
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.79

According to the chart I'm almost exactly between Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama. :)

Economic Left/Right: -2.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.38

Economic Left/Right: -2.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.10

But there were many questions that I'm not decided on. In a few weeks I might be further to the right and more authoritarian.

Economic Left/Right: -5.13
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.49

I am a registered Republican who votes with his eye cast towards what will benefit himself. Most of the time, that means leaning slightly left.

Economic Left/Right: -5.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.23

voluntary regional collectivism ahoy!

where are our dictators and despots GAF? Good thing they don't ask about the ONE CONSOLE Future!

The compass itself is way too black and white. Plus it's very U.S.-oriented. So I don't think this is an accurate compass. I found myself disagreeing or agreeing simply because there isn't a middle ground answer on some of these ...

That aside (and ironic as it might sound, I somewhat agree with the listing), here's how I lean.

Economic Left/Right: -6.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.21

It's a Brit survey from what I can tell actually. Plus they justify the lack of a neutral or Don't Know option in their FAQ page. Interesting FAQ page actually.

It's unreal, everyone seems left of center. Where are the neocons?

There are some vocal conservatives here, but one thing that I immediately noticed when are started posting here a couple of years ago was that the forum definately swings left. It was huge contrast compared to other place I used to visit.

Economic Left/Right: -4.13
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.67

There were more right-wingers here, but they tend to get really stressed out by their minority status and do something silly to get banned. Personally, I'd rather keep them around, because even a stupid debate is more fun than a circle jerk.

So maybe we'll implement some sort of affirmative action for right-wingers at GA.

Economic Left/Right: -5.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.49

I'm so far to the left that I'm almost right.

Economic Left/Right: -6.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.90

Some of those questions don't suggest relative answers, which is really irritating.

Economic Left/Right: -4.13
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.97

Im closest to the Dalai Lama. Sweet, im a holy man :D

Economic Left/Right: -4.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.21

Very close to Gandhi, Nelson Mandella and the Dalai Lama. I'm a Libertarian Left.

Economic Left/Right: -6.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.79
