Like Doug said, though, the lack of relative answers was irritating on a few occasions, particularly the following question (and
especially considering that it's easy to discern how the responses to these questions will be weighted):
"No one chooses his or her country of birth, so it's foolish to be proud of it."
I put "disagree", but only because I feel that
if a nation exemplifies values and standards that you, as an adult who has examined the issues, feel to be consistent with your own ideals, then you can, in fact, be proud of your nation. For example, if a nation is peace-loving, charitable, protective of individual rights, and just, then why would it be foolish to be proud of one's nation?
However, it's clear that they didn't mean it in
that sense, but rather in the "it is foolish to be proud of your nation of birth
just because it's your nation" sense, which I obviously would have agreed with.
