Okay, I just ordered a faceplate direct from Nintendo, I had to call them.

They only have the camo and ladybug faceplates. I ordered a camo. Total with shipping came to about $7.50, I think. But I'm still thinking about returning my DS to find one without dead pixels :-(.

You are a great person.

I just ordered a few backup plates myself. :)

I'd love to have a blue one. I'm willing to trade my silver one with all of the faceplates, the bag, and the peice to take the faceplates off, and the box that the micro came in.

I'm looking to get two games and one gamestop that is at a far distance has these two games. Can I have them ship those games to a different gamestop for free? All of this gaming on my micro has me adding to my GBA library?

Edit: I'm looking to buy ChuChu rocket and double dragon if anyone cares.

so a manager friend of mine from GS is getting one sent so I can pick it up for 30 bucks. It's used (obviously), but comes with the charger and all.

Where is a good place for faceplates? I see a bunch on Amazon, or should I do what the previous poster did and call Nintendo?

You see a bunch on Amazon? Can you share the links? I can't find any on amazon or ebay or anything.

yea...from what the lady said it is pink w/ red (fami color) with a lady bug by the a/b buttons...

never seen one...so I don't know...but sounds like it will look good on a fami GBM

anyone have one to show?

The middle one.

Edit: I have this faceplate and the famicon micro and I don't know how well this would look. On that note I would be embarrased to put that faceplate on my micro.

Can you do that with anything? Like can I ask that they get a copy of PSO 1&2 for the Gamecube from the stores 300 miles away that have them?

bad plate design can't hold a candle to a scratched and worn screen. :/
I have a used a famicon one and I took the faceplate off and I will never take it off again. Whoever owned it before me must of taken a shower with the thing, eaten with it, and every other daily activity. On the outside its so scratched up it hurts my eyes. Thats why I bought a new one.

Honestly, if you don't like the design of the faceplate, just get a decal. That way you'll get whatever design you want, plus a fresh screen.

Unless you have dead pixels like me :-(. Yes, I've complained multiple times, but I guess I shouldn't really complain. I'll have to see what it looks like with the new faceplate.

Also posted this on the buy/sell/trade thread

A reasonably priced GB Micro. Looking for around the GS price of $30, could possibly go up to fifty if the system is in great condition, has extra faceplates, or includes a good GBA game or two.

PM me, also open to possible trades.

So, I got a Micro already but am interested in a normal GBA for my GB/C games. I sold mine off a long time ago but the things are sturdy as hell.

Is it recommended that I buy a second hand GBA phat? Or could there be some kinda problem a few months down the road? They go for 20 anyway

Why not get a GBA SP? It'll play GB/C games. And wouldn't it be easier to see?

Not a big fan of clamshell :P

True about the light thingy though, do they still sell those mods somwhere online?

The afterburner. And I don't think its still available out there. The GBA SP is probably the cheapest and easiest way to play GBC games.

God, I love my micro. Big enough to enjoy some Final Fantasy grinding or Metroid without straining my eyes. Small enough that I can tuck it in my pocket for some stealth Nintendo during downtime at work. I get this strange nostalgic feeling just holding that thing in my giant hands, and it is divine.

The original GBA doesn't have an illuminated screen.

Best bet is to go to GameStops and say you want a GBA SP that says "AGS-101" on the bottom. That's the SP+ with the improved backlit screen. You can buy replacement shells online to make them look shiny and new.

hahaha, what the fuck? pics are all well and good, but an "HD unboxing"??? thats creepy and weird as hell. you all should be ashamed.

^^ Faceplate bought from nintendo recently?

Yeah, a few months ago now but I think they're still selling them. I'm in Australia though, so it's Nintendo Australia I'm talking about. I just phoned them up and asked if they had any replacement faceplates, they said they did, charged me $AU10 and posted the two that matched my system to me. I've got a brand new light/bluish/gray faceplate in its packaging, just in case my blue one gets scratched up.

Fusion is great on the micro.

I'm actually playing Wario Ware Twisted on my micro in between posting this and browsing neogaf. This thread keeps making me pick it up.

I'm still waiting on my GB Micro to be shipped. There was some confusion with the store that was shipping it and had to have it resent today :( I hope it gets here before my DSi XL comes ,lol.

What games do you guys suggest? What were your favorite GBA titles?
