Game Informer May Cover Reveal: Final Fantasy XV

We getting Morrowind up in FFXV.

The branching decisions are probably like CC so just for side missions.

We also got a name for the dog I think,
Umbra

I'd assume the branching would be more like Birth By Sleep's magic creation system than Morrowind, which was basically picking effects and moving sliders up and down.

Some tidbits from GI (credit to lunafreya at gamefaq)

-You can make branching decisions.

-The game have magic synthesis to create new spells.

-There will be a growth system where you can spend ability points on weapon skills, Noctis, the party, bonuses…

Am excited for the magic synthesis. :D

Gonna avoid all the video footage, but will at least get the text summaries coming soon, i can't miss those mechanics details! Hope GI's articles aren't too spoilery.

That's why I've been preaching to mark side quests or story related stuff like summons and whatnot in spoiler tags.

Judging from the magazine and what GameInformer says about their preview footage, we're getting A LOT of content and info from the early hours of the game, so people who want to stay spoiler free should maybe only read the big bullet points.

It begins.

Hopefully someone gives a spoiler free summary

Now that i think about it the artwork reminds me of the British Royal Family Holiday cards lol

I swear if they start selling postcards with GREETING FROM THE CAELUMS written on them or teacups with Noctis&Regis faces i'll buy the fuck out of everything.

You will watch, you can't avoid the Hype :)

Heck no, i've been waiting this game for too long, i don't want the best bits to be spoiled 6 months earlier.

Seems pretty obvious that the painting of the four warriors is Regis and crew.

I think so.

Sounds great.

Well, we can make sort of make sutble connections between Regis' squad and Noctis':

  • Regis and Noctis are father and son.
  • Cidney's surname is Aurum (Gold) and Prompto's surname is Argentum (Silver). While Prompto and Cid himself might not be direct relatives, they both use guns and have a similar relationship. And Prompto wasn't tied to the aristocracy when he was young like Gladio and Ignis were, so there should have been a reason to let him be close to Noctis even though he was a bad influence for the prince.
  • Ignis was trained by someone from the Family Guard to protect Noctis since he was young. Cor is the head of the royal family guard, so he likely trained Ignis.
  • The old guy which we don't know anything about yet resembles Gladio and in one of the recently revealed artworks, he appears to be sort of redesigned, and wields Gladio's weapon, they could be father and son.

I think all four of them are related.

Sounds like canon. Is this the FFXV A-Team?

Sorry for a dumb question, but is the only way to get this issue digitally to sub for 12 months? Can I not just buy this one issue digitally?

That is the most expensive knee brace I have ever seen.

Can't wait for more news. Uncovered and now this? SE is pushing, I'm glad to see them doing right by this game.

If you download our free Ipad or Android app, which is on the bottom of our cover reveal page, you can buy a single issue or subscribe digitally.

Not trying to promote here (though I guess I am) just trying to answer the question.

This issue is definitely a must own for me. The artwork, 20 page spread and the fact that this game is coming out this year after 10 years... This is a huge piece of gaming history.
