Can I buy the physical copy at a gamestop?

If so when?

It'll be available at GameStop in the next few weeks, I believe a single issue is $6 or $7, could be $5 or higher, I honestly can't remember. Just be prepared to be told "well you know it's only $15 for a whole year" and when you say no thanks I just want this one they'll go "wow, you get 11 more for just a few more dollars ARE YOU SURE?!?!"

I only say this because I had to do it for years, Kagari knows what I'm talking about lol

re-quoting my other post :P

I don't think those are Noctis and his friends, but Regis, Cid, Cor and the remaining old guy.

That old guy looks like he is related to Glad a bit since it looks like they use the same great sword, maybe his grandpa?

The prompto guy is probably Cid.

Will its narrative be choice-driven...?

The hallmark of many western RPG makers (like Bioware) is the ability to have a say in how the story specifically ends; your choices dictate your ending.
This is why I gravitated away from JRPG's; I merely left like I was along for the ride - rather than driving the game's story.

I hope not, and doubt it honestly. I like watching a set, well done story play out rather than a bunch of non-canon stuff

Lmao thanks for reminding me that Cid is a bazillion years old but his daughter is like 24.

I think that painting is Regis, Cid, Cor and someone else as seen in this artwork, Tabata said before they were a group of soldiers in the past fighting against Niflheim:

Like the old Noctis/Noctkid painting, it might be a past event which Regis holds dearly beloved. (:)

Those gifs are very hype but the entire first chapter? I hope they don't spoil anything. I want to see a full boat ride around Altissia and I'm happy.

If you don't want to be spoiled I wouldn't watch the videos or read the previews. I'm on a blackout, too, and I'm only going to read the interviews and non-gameplay stuff.

Someone on twitter said that we gonna get magic synthesis to create new magic :O

You can spend ability points on weapon skills, Noctis, the party, bonuses

Branching decisions as well

The player driving the game's story limits the specificity of the narrative. Final Fantasy is all about having a very specific scenario play about. The most they should ever go with a mainline Final Fantasy is having multiple endings based on a few choices, but endings that don't impact the main drive of the story, and JRPGs have been doing that since the beginning. So, think expanded, open gameplay, but fitted to a specific narrative.

A narrative ride that is really engaging is actually a really good thing. iIt's just that most JRPGs have failed in that aspect, and Final Fantasy has lost that strength. Here's to hoping that this is a return to form.

I don't mind gameplay just stuff relating to summons like Titan or story bits Idc. Gameplay related content I'm cool.

So the guy on the far right is the father of Gladiolus?

Some tidbits from GI (credit to lunafreya at gamefaq)

-You can make branching decisions.

-The game have magic synthesis to create new spells.

-There will be a growth system where you can spend ability points on weapon skills, Noctis, the party, bonuses…

I had the files still open so I did it for you :)

Those are lovely, thanks!
Any chance you're also going to clear the image for the actual cover?
Might as well use that for my phone background as well lol

YEEESSS!
Only things i need to know about this game are the more RPG elements like party customization!

Don't know how to feel about decisions though, hope it's something light like Uncharted 4...

Seems pretty obvious that the painting of the four warriors is Regis and crew.
So the guy on the far right is the father of Gladiolus?
I think so.

That cover is too damn good.

I wanna avoid media for this, but damn I can't so I'll pick this up.

Well we know about the gambits, and I think there is also group gear to manage like it showed in episode duscae.

About the decisions I think it's stuff of how you want to go about missions, but I'd be surprised if there was something Noctis could do with say the other girls like that new black haired one in the car in the trailer.

I think all the new info should be gathered and posted for a new thread. Also,
mark them spoilers

I'm here for this! Yas!

Magic synthesis and skill/weapon points? Yes.

This game needs some equivalent of the Materia system, so we can have a great level of customization. None of this Growth tree/web simplification of the XIII series.

The prompto guy is probably Cid.

Well, we can make sort of make sutble connections between Regis' squad and Noctis':

  • Regis and Noctis are father and son.
  • Cidney's surname is Aurum (Gold) and Prompto's surname is Argentum (Silver). While Prompto and Cid himself might not be direct relatives, they both use guns and have a similar relationship. And Prompto wasn't tied to the aristocracy when he was young like Gladio and Ignis were, so there should have been a reason to let him be close to Noctis even though he was a bad influence for the prince.
  • Ignis was trained by someone from the Family Guard to protect Noctis since he was young. Cor is the head of the royal family guard, so he likely trained Ignis.
  • The old guy which we don't know anything about yet resembles Gladio and in one of the recently revealed artworks, he appears to be sort of redesigned, and wields Gladio's weapon, they could be father and son.

I think all four of them are related.

We getting Morrowind up in FFXV.

The branching decisions are probably like CC so just for side missions.

We also got a name for the dog I think,
Umbra

For the longest time my buddies been telling me if this game gets review scores below a 10 it's shit.

Pretty annoying that they consider someone else' opinion higher than their own.

It's pretty clear this game is on a different caliber reguardless..

I would play a badass old dudes spin off with these guys standing in for the main cast.
