Game overload. Holy shit what have I gotten myself into??

It started back in mid October.

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne came out. I picked it up in hopes of finally getting a PS2 rpg I'd enjoy. I did. Or, at least I did until October 29.

GTA: SA came out. Whoa, they added so much. What a kickass game!! Once I started, I couldn't stop!! ... Until November 9 that is...

Halo 2 came out. Whoa! Halo-fucking-2!!!! This one kept me busy until November 16.

Half Life 2 came out!! Finally! Okay, let's play this motherfu....

Nintendo DS came out. Sweet! I've been eyeing this thing since e3. Can't wait to sink my teeth into Mari....

MGS3 came out. My God, it's great! I finished it, and got somewhat through my second game wheeeen....

World Of Warcraft. Kasavin goes nuts over it. I check it on various websites. I've been waiting for a decent MMO for a while now. Just picked it up.

And here I am. Seven games and a Nintendo DS in a little over a month. I've only finished two of those games (Halo and MGS3.). I don't even want to know how much money that is.

Goddamn, what have I done?? :(
 
Yeah, no kidding. 7? I think I have 7 unopened games I've bought in just the last month.
 
Dude, I bought each of those games at full price! I didn't even get my money's worth before I moved on to the next one.

Has anyone else done this in light of so many awesome games out right now?

i've done the exact same thing - halo 2, half life 2 , metroid prime 2, ds, mario 64, and feel the magic. plus now i have something to play all my gba games on (my sp crapped out on me) there are even more unfinished games in that backlog :P
 
You think that's bad? Try balancing school, work, a writing gig and still finding time to play the games you actually want to play. A quick lookover of my room reveals at least 11 titles in heavy rotation. I'm actually holding off on MP2:E, the DS (w/FTM and Driller), KOTOR II and POP:WW until Christmas, that's how crazy things have gotten. SMT has a layer of dust on it that makes me want to cry, and WoW really needs to stop tempting me.

Too much crap I've got sitting here too. I'm forcing myself not to buy anything else for a while until I play this stuff, PSP excluded.

Sawaru! Made In Mario comes out tomorrow for DS though, and I'm so damn tempted.

Not as disturbing as having money to buy everything, but having to share with a signifigant other.

Not nearly as disturbing as having a birthday in December. Family members telling me as early as October, "Don't buy anything for yourself! I might get you that for your birthday or Christmas!" Birthday and Christmas roll around, and I get a sweater. "We weren't sure what to get you." FVCK
 
Also I have work and finals to worry about ... So yeah.... Social life = bye bye. I shouldn't even be posting right now. Must... Finish.. .Games.
 
My timeline matches yours up until the DS. (Just substitute MP2 in its place)

The only game I have beaten of the bunch is HL2, hell I am still saved somewhere in the middle of High Charity on Halo 2, have yet to see the "ending".

MP2, MGS3, and GTA all have several hours logged, but a long way left to completion. (I am debating doing a trade-in on GTA for WoW right now seeing as I likely would just upgrade to the assumed Xbox version next year)

Hell, I am still on Chapter 3 of Paper Mario 2, and Pikmin 2 is stuck at 40% debt complete or something. I've damn near forgotten about those two.

Ace Combat 5 is practically untouched...

I am extremely close to finishing R&C3 actually though. Surprising how addictive I have been to that one in this hectic November. Likely because it does away with a lot of the junk I hated in Going Commando.

And to think I will immediately dump more cash on Otogi 2 the moment I catch sight of it is scary. Doubt I will resist Kotor 2 in a week either...oy.

Same here.

I don't know if I can hold out, though. Viewtiful Joe 2 and Alien Hominid are already tempting me. KOTOR2 is slowly building up steam.

If I had a decent PC, I would own Half-Life 2 and WoW right now too.

To be honest my PC (laptop actually) really isn't that great. Half Life 2 struggles pretty badly, that's why I haven't finished it yet. WoW, however, is silky smooth with a res of 1024x768. If the only thing holding you back is the requirements, go for it. This game was made with old comps in mind...

I know how you feel. I blew about $170 on the TRU 3 for 2 deal and I scooped up a few buy two used get one free deal at EB. Going again for a second stab at it tomorrow. :(

After I bought Shadow Hearts, Shadow Hearts Covenant (bundled together for $50), 007: EoN ($20), Taiko Drum Master ($60), and SMT: Nocturne ($50) in October, I went cold turkey on gaming purchases. I didn't buy a single game during the month of November, and except for Growlanser, I probably won't buy anything this month either until I cut down my backlog. Paper Mario 2, Baten Kaitos, MP2:E, and Mario Power Tennis will wait for me.
 
7 games? Your complaining about 7 games?

Dude, my backlog is currently at about 200+ titles... and I haven't even bought stuff like MGS3, JakIII, and R&C 3 yet.
 
That's how it is with me. I was waiting for Halo 2 to come out so my brother and I got like 8 games, starting with Burnout 3. Hahaha and Half-Life 2 and I just got San Andreas. Too much to do.

this is why I don't buy a lot of titles until they hit the bargain bin! KOTOR2 is the only new game I have left to get that can't wait until it hits the GH price range.
