Gamecrazy is Awesome.

I dropped by Gamecrazy tonight expecting to find nothing I want to buy, as usual, only to have unknowingly walked into a buy 2 get 1 free sale. Usually im suspect of this shit cause you always find complete crap, but OMG, awesome games!

I got Maximo 2, Onimusha 3, and Dynasty Tactics 2 for 34 dollars before tax! AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well maybe its not awesome to you, but I cant remember the last time EB or gameslop had GOOD sales.

Both stores have had Buy 2 get 1 free sales for some time now.

Gamecrazy's prices are probably better, though.

Yup, and the 10% discount card work in conjunction with this deal. Well, at Gamestop at least. Still, Gamecrazy is awesome. The one nearest to my house has quite a few good games and the guys who work there are top-notch.

I think you could have done better with the selection of games you chose. Maybe something else instead of Onimusha, at least.

Hah, the ones by my house are just like your average EB/Gamestop. The last time i went in one(a long time ago), one of the workers was trying his hardest to get me to pre-order wolverines revenge. After repeated attempts, he offered me a free plastic monkey ball toy, exclaiming that it was "Xtreme". Me and my friend still joke about it today.

blockbuster always has that buy 2 get one free deal.

And they're the bottom of the barrel.

It's bad enough that specialty stores selling you a complete used game is a gamble, but with Blockbuster all hope is lost. Case? HA! Manual? HAHA!

Fuck Blockbuster, and Gamerush too.

Gamecrazy was pretty awesome for me recently, but only because of (probably flagrant) rules violations by one of the employees.

I'd ordered a copy of Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne from them, and they said they had one new one left that would be shipped over from another store for $49.95... days came, and the game never arrived.

A week or so later, one dude in the checkout line was trading in SMT: Nocturne while I was there, and the employee held up the game and said to me "Hey, make this guy an offer".. I gave the dude trading in the game $20 (a buck more than gamecrazy would give him in trade) and walked out with a mint SMT: Nocturne.. saving $20 or so over ebay prices. Wahoo!

:lol Is that so? The gamecrazy that is nearest to my house isn't actually all that near. It's about a 30 minute drive, but that's where I pre-ordered my PSP and games because they didn't have that many preorders and the employees were nice about it. It's odd though, all of the game stores around my house have great employees. EB, Gamestop, Gamecrazy, and all the independent stores. The Gamestop is closest to my house and I shop there so often that I guess I would be considered a "regular." The employees that know me better give me preorder promo items all the time when they have extras left over and everytime I reserve a game, they know all the info right away. It's cool. Just goes to show you what a few good employees can do to a store.

I was probably the one who recommended that you do that. I had a special-order fall through, too, unfortunately. It seems to be hit or miss and you sometimes have to wait a long time.

But on the other hand, I got this absolute steal of a game today:

ikaruga2ab.jpg

$13.49, complete with manual, very good condition overall.

fry's had it for $20 long ago (i dont even know if they still have copies)

best buy also had it for $20 in the past

Hey guys Wal Mart has Valkyrie Profile for $20 and Suikoden II for $30!

...five years ago

Wal Mart gets too much hate. *hugs $20 Valkyrie Profile*

I scoured the entire Bay Area for it, including two different Fry's, before finding it way out of the way at a Gamecrazy in Salinas. I probably got the only copy on a store shelf within a 100-mile radius, and I would've paid twice as much on Ebay for the same game in the same condition...

I was at blockbuster yesterday and they had a buy 2 get one free sale on used games. I got Robot Alchemic Drive, Disaster Report and Gradius III and IV for 30 canadian.

NICE! I really need this game.

I went to one of these yesterday. I wasn't to impressed with the selection of games. They had a few good PS1 games and N64 games. But nothing to rare. The 2 biggest steals I saw there were Meteos (Used) 15.00$ and Pikmin 2 (Used) 30.00$. I didn't end up buying anything though.

Some of them are kind of sad, it's true, but you can ask them to do a locate and they'll ship anything from any store out to them. They charge $6 for shipping, but if you decide not to get the game (not in the condition you expected, etc.) or if it gets lost they can refund it.

I hardly go because they are so far. But the last time I went I found mint copies of Powerstone 1 and 2. I think I paid $20 plus tax for the two. Made the whole trip worth it.

Blockbuster may be bottom of the barrell. But their Gamerush stores? Class all they way. Nothing but good experiences. Used games are at a good price and buy 2 get 1 is always in order. You CANNOT beat their trade in prices, you just can't.

I've only ever had one game from them that wasn't clean and had the manual.

Gamecrazy on the other hand? always though they were kinda high priced.
