Umm. There are LiIon AA batteries.

The wavebird lasts forever on a couple of AAs,it's not really a big deal.
if it lasted forever, as in never having to change, i would be ecstatic, but they run out, which sucks...

and i mean, i totally understand that some people dont want wires, and that's cool, but i do, and that's not...

what a downer, and the special hasn't even aired yet...

Faceless, it comes with two AA li-on batteries. rechargeable with the USB cable. MUCH better than going all proprietary on us, if the batteries lose their charge in a few years, you can go to radio shack and buy any AA Li-On batteries and replace them. Smart move IMO.

Will the remote be sold seperately?
No mention of it in the article, so probably no. :(

Are you 100% sure about that? As you would make me a very VERY happy man if that's the case...my Wireless set-up needs a work out.
Read my quote on the same statement he did. No, he's not sure. The article clearly says "Forberedt", meaning PREPARED for WiFi.

well, if they are indeed LiIon, then it's not so bad, but i'd still prefer W.I.R.E.S.

and damn i'm glad it at least has an ethernet port!

Just noticed the top nine threads are about the 360, plus a sticky. It's gonna be really nuts at 6:30 PST when all the media gets released via web sites, plus all the in-depth game exclusives like PD0....it's gonna be fun.

RALLISPORT CHALLENGE 3 !!!!!!!!!!! :D

Now just think how good this game will look! RSC2 is the best looking racer i've played

Yes it is. This day will go down as X360 dey. Pure pandemonium, pure next-gen drooling. Can't wait.

For rechargeable batteries always look for the amount of mAh on the side of the battery.

The more mAh you have, the longer it lasts. Standard AA's usually have around 2100 but I picked up some Energizer rechargeables (NiMH) that are 2500 mAh and make my Wavebird last forever.

I totally recommend NiMH, just remember that you want them fully charged on their first charge, then drain them completely till they are dead and recharge - they maintain a memory (if you want your batteries lasting as long as possible).

The magazine is not out, this has been stolen from the printers and is in violation with NDA.

Everything is copyrighted naturally.

Edit: The guy who made the thread is not responsible. Sorry for the mistake.

AA rechargables are cheap, and I can charge them in 15 minutes with the right charger (for the rare times they will run out). AA's go up past 2500mah so they should last a long time in the controller. So I'm glad MS went this route.

Rumble with LiIon AA batteries. Hmm, does anyone know the tech specs on how much longer LiIon AA batteries last?? My Wavebird has yet to need a battery change in about 2 years it seems, but it doesn't rumble.

I am loving everything about this system so far.

Anyone else notice the placement of XBox360 on the "top" of the system. It is situated to promote placement vertically. Interesting move on MS's part.

To be fair, that's partially because the Wavebird doesn't have a rumble feature. But we'll see. If the controller can run off of NiMH/Li-Ion AA batteries and charge off of the USB plug, it really shouldn't be an issue.

I've translated the bit about the joypad.

- Same plastic feeling and analoge buttons.

Thanks for translating!
But does the article contain any proper information regarding analog TRIGGERS? There were rumors that the 360 controller would only be equipped with 4 shoulder BUTTONS (with the triggers being removed). And as we all know there's a difference between analog (PS2 *cough*) and analog (neGcon)...

Gonna try and translate some maybe untranslated stuff:

* Circle of light button takes you directly to the dashboard.

* Starbreeze, the Swedish team behind Riddick, are working on a The Darkness (comic) title that's supposed to be great

* No HD-DVD support mentioned in article, all other formats though, +JPEG CD.

* Prepared for WiFi 802.11 and high definiton video camera (1280 pixels wide).

* Upgradeable, removable 20GB harddrive (!).

* 12x DVD

* Every game ever made for the X360 will support 16:9, 720p, 1080i and the possibility to listen to a personal soundtrack while playing

More later...

First off, * Circle of light button takes you directly to the dashboard.- Schaaweet!!!

The rest of it great! Except for no HD-DVD support mentioned though. :( Hope that part's innacurate.

A bit more informations translated by my friend manager :
*It will be released in europe 7 days after USA
*December release in Japan
*Its released in less than six months
*Release games: Perfect Dark Zero, PGR3 and Kameo
*10-16 game titles at the release. 40 games after half a year.
*The Xbox Silver thingy is correct, it will be there, and free.
*You will be able to transfer stuff from an ipod.
*You will see TV thru your Xbox.
*It can stand up and lie down.
*When you watch DVD, some stuff in the console will automaticly shut down - so its more quiet.
*You load the batteries on the controllers up via USB-cable on Xbox. You can also use simple batteries.
*The round thingy on the controller = "The ring of light". Its actually a screen, which says if there are any updates on Xbox Live. Downl. content and such. It also says which controllers there are in your hands, which number.
*Rallisport Challenge 3 will be on Xbox 360.
*The Darkness from swedish Starbreeze (Riddick).
*Peter Moore confirms Halo 3.

Dances all over the place. Rallisport for life :)

Well, if you can recharge with the USB cable, just leave it always plugged in! :P

with every leak my hope decreases on this :/

Considering that about the only thing that hasn't leaked out of Microsoft is the color J. Allard's underwear, I don't think it's happening. Period. Which is a shame, really. If it were backwards compatible, I might - MIGHT - get one at launch just so I don't have to deal with the added stress of shipping my XBox from New York to California. I trust UPS and companies like them about as far as I can throw 'em to get my stuff to me undamaged.

For me, Backwards Compatibility is a nice insurance that my Xbox1 library will still be playable after my Xbox itself doesn't work properly anymore - and this matters a fair bit to me as a collector.

Since PS3 will play PS2 games, it's a major factor in my decision between buying a game for Xbox or PS2.

For never owning an X-Box, backwards compatability would be a big selling point from me. The current line-up has convinced me to get a 360 anyways, but I really wish they would have included it in the package because now I almost feel obligated to go get an older X-Box for the sake of those old games. I was originally holding out for the new one.

Does the article mention anything about

-Backwards Compatiblity
-Using your old controllers
or
-Specifics about the HDD

?

Posting magazine scans is against the TOS:

TOS said:
D. Copyrighted Material

The posting of full transcriptions of articles and whole or partially-scanned images is not allowed. Users in breach of this rule are subject to banning, although a verbal warning may be administered for a first offense. The posting of review scores (without text), news summaries, rumors, and review paraphrasing is acceptable, as long as credit is given to the original source.

I will be returning to this thread in a few hours, and I expect that all the links to the scans will be gone by that time.

I thought it was just American mags?

Ouch, I have to remember that then :P

Not that I want to push anything, and of course it IS strictly against the TOS, but can we get some clarification on what is and isn't allowed? It's seemed to be an unwritten rule here for a long time now that magazine scans not in English are allowed. Has this changed with jinx's post? Or is it up to each mod/admin's discretion?

The graphics in Ghost Recon 3 don't really make me think it's a giant leap forward like last gen BUT I am still really looking forward to PD0 (and Kameo! :D) pics because Rare always makes fantastic looking games.

My first take is that intellectual property is intellectual property, regardless of where you are located. As an American, if someone scans a German magazine, it is probably not much of an impact -- it's not like I could buy (or read) that magazine anyway. But for someone reading the forums in Germany, wouldn't it give them a reason not to buy the magazine? GAF has readership around the world, and legalities aside, it would seem like a bad thing to allow scans...which is why it's in the TOS to begin with.

With that being said, I don't hang out in the Gaming Forum very often, and don't know how this rule has typically been enforced. Hopefully someone else from the moderation staff will stop by and clarify the rule.

I will say that mods/admins WILL tend to be touchy about this kind of thing during E3 with so much information being shared, so please think twice before posting someone else's content.

It makes sense, I just wonder where the line is drawn. Japanese scans for example have been allowed for as long as I can remember being on GAF, and I'd be surprised if we have more Danish readers (where these scans are from) than guys in Japan.

Anyway, I'm happy to go along with whatever is laid down. There are plenty of other forums to find this stuff if it comes to it.

Considering hobbyists and programmers have put together something that does this for free on the original Xbox, I'd be deeply disappointed myself. It's something MS can really have over Sony and Nintendo if they do it right. XBMC rules.

Hold on. You can do tivo on your xbox???????? xbmc is good but it cant record live tv, can it???????
