Games you remember, names you don't

A friend of mine can't remember a name for a game and here's his description:

"It was a side-scroller, not sure if it was on SNES or Genesis but had a mythogical theme. The main character may have looked like He-Man. I remember there being one level in the clouds and another underwater. It had a very Clash of the Titans feel to it. I can't for the life of me remember the name."

P.S. It's not Altered Beast

I don't know about where the levels took place as I haven't played them in ages and don't remember, but the He-Man character makes me think of Rastan, Stormlord, and Cadash.

Any chance it's the first Suikoden game for Playstation and you're remembering the console incorrectly? It's been a long time since I played it so perhaps I'm remembering the details off a bit but it seems you're describing some details of it.

I think you're right, Millich Oppenheimer. I wonder if that's the one he means?

Yeah thx, finally found the Game. :D

There's a scrolling shooter that I vaguely remember for the PC from sometime in the early 90s. I think it was patterned after Galaga, and when you lost, there was this weird alien-sounding voice that would shout "YOU LOSE!" on the game over screen.

Alright, I remember a co-op beat 'em up with one black and one white protagonist. The first level was a junkyard or maybe a parking lot or something. I remember there were cars you could jump on. Pretty sure one of the dudes had a pink wifebeater or shirt.

Now, I thought this was an NES title but I've combed through the entire game catalog a couple of times looking for this game and I have yet to find it, so maybe it was an SNES game. Pretty sure it wasn't on Genesis.

Any ideas?

Here's a game I've been looking to import, but can't remember the name. It has you play a feudal lord in Japan that taxes people and treats them like crap, so they come to attack your castle and you can defend yourself with trap style gameplay like Tecmo's Deception.

It was featured in an import section in an old issue of EGM. It was for PS1 or PS2.

Please help!

There was this PC game I played in elementary school. I remember you were an alien and the first level, you started off in a farm, I tbelieve hink, and I you made it to a town. I don't remember if you had a weapon or not, but there were farmers, cheerleaders, and other generic people types who you'd have to either touch or shoot and then a little UFO would come and abduct them. Then at the end of each level, it'd show the main UFO and the people you'd captured walking in a line with a machine and being turned into the alien species you're controlling.

If anyone can identify that game, that'd be great. It's been bugging me for years.
Quoting this because no one identified the game and I'd really like to know what game this was.

I am looking for some old Rally game on the PC. I think it is from around 2001/2002ish but it could be much later as well :-/ It was licensed and had stages that could last up to 40 minutes. You could repair your car between stages (of course) and it was pretty hard. I wouldn't call it super realistic but absolutely not arcade racing style. Plus for it's time it looked really pretty. It isn't Colin McRea / Richard Burns etc.

That's all the details I really can remember. If anyone knows what game that was I will give you mad internet hugs.

The Combatribes maybe? (not pink though)

Check "Rally Championship" series for PC:

trying to remember an old strategy game

you have a colony(?) it wasn't on earth maybe moon or other planet
you needed to put power-lines and connect buildings
it wasn't about the combat but more building stuff
the building with the food/crops had a characteristic sound

A couple that I think are possibilities:

Mobil 1 Rally Championship
Rally Championship Xtreme
RAC Rally Championship

(I think these are all different games... despite all being "Rally Championship" titles!)

I remember playing old ass game back in the 90's I think where you played as a gangster and your job was to basically build the best gang you could.

You started out on foot and did small jobs. Some of the stuff I remember was pushing crates on to a train track and I think stealing stuff from homes. I think you could become a loan shark as well and try to get people to pay up.

Combat was sorta turn based I think, your gang was on the left side of the screen and the enemies were on the right. You could upgrade your weapons and stuff too.

The thing that stuck with me though was breaking into the bank vaults. When you were trying to figure out the combination to the safe, the game would play sounds that came from inside of your computer tower. A higher pitched sound meant you had the correct number for that slot.

I know this is all a little vague, but it's worth a shot I guess.

The Combatribes maybe? (not pink though)

No, the art style was a lot simpler which is why I really think it was an NES game, but like I said, I couldn't find it myself. Maybe I should call my brother and see if he knows what I'm talking about. I played it with him but he has has a terrible memory.

Is there a movie-equivalent to this thread on the OT side? I've found I remember the name's to virtually every game I've played, but it's different with movies.

There was a Dreamcast space combat sim that got pretty good reviews and praise that I always wanted to play but I can't remmeber the name. It was similar to Freelancer like Starlancer or something. Anyone know what im talking about?

There was a NES game. Top down, or maybe semi-isometric, I can't remember. I'm 31, and I might have played it maybe when I was....7,8? I remember dinosaurs I think? Jumping across giant lily pads maybe? It's extremely hazy. And I don't think it's Karnov, as that game doesn't have any top down areas does it?

Help!

Adventures of Dino Riki?

Help! I'm looking for a possibly French adventure game from around 2002-2005. The story was told by cutscenes with real actors, and the gameplay was about solving riddles, mysteries: you had to google everything, receiving missions and hints through email, visiting sites created just for the game!

Nevermind, just found it, it was In Memoriam!

Two games; both of Sega Genesis. The first one you were on a motorcycle and you had a weapon. You could choose what weapon you had before the race started. Then as you were racing on the motorcycle you could hit other racers with your weapons, like maces, clubs, I think there may have been pepper spray, etc. The other game you could play as spider-man or venom, or play with two players, one being spider-man the other venom, and you played cooperatively against an enemy(I can't remember who since this was a long, long time ago, I just remember you could play as Spider-man and Venom).

Road Rash and Maximum Carnage.

Fairly recent game (this gen). Game starts off in a hospital room or a medical bay, I think the room is mostly white. Then follow behind some female doctor in a lab coat as she prattles on about some stuff... Whatever this game is I rented it years ago, didn't give it much of a chance, but would like to.

Outpost? I've barely played it, but it was certainly a building-focussed strategy game on a remote planet, atleast.

It could be Two Crude Dudes? On a very tenuous link that the level sounds familiar?

So, there was this game that I played when I was just a kid (something like 4 or 5 years old, I wasn't able to read) in 1993/94, or something like it. It was for PC-Windows and it was a an action/side scroller where you where a man similar to Action Man nemesis Dr X and I remember that the first two levels was something like a jungle where you had to shoot a lot of spiders and other craps like these. Someone can help me?

Okay I have one been bothering me for a long time. It was PS1 adventure game you play as a martial artist cheetah I believe going around fighting things and I remember it having a progression where you would learn new moves after beating a boss? Or maybe completing a stage? Something along those lines.

Otto Matic? You must be pretty young if you were playing that in elementary.

Ok guys I'm going crazy trying to remember the name of this game but I just can't.

It was an Edutainment title that came packed in with my IBM pc in the mid nineties.
The only thing I remember is the main guy was kind of a superhero type dude that in my mind's eye I see as resembling Freakazoid.

It played a bunch of videos of this guy but the playing part was mainly in static screens À lá MYST.

The part I remember the most clear is when you had to breed a frog for a fight in an Evolution chamber so you turned the dial and ajusted his food and stuff like that then you would press a button and he would "evolve".

I also remember the word HYPER being somehow connected with this game.

Please help me guys I'm going bananas!

Edit: Also this was around the time that the CD was becoming a more popular format so I remember the word MULTIMEDIA being thrown around a lot too.

Ok, so...I'm trying to remember the name of an arcade game I played around 10-15 years ago.

It was an action-packed mech game. There were quite a few humanoid mechs to choose from. You could run around using boosters, shoot, and primarily, attack with some sort of long laser swords. There was definitely a type of targeting system. I think you controlled the game with some sort of joystick.

I remember it being really crazy and fun, and occasionally it just pops into my head and I'm dying to remember what it was called. I don't think I never knew what it was called. :( I dream of a modern version of such a game all the time.

It's not Virtual On, is it? I think that fits all your descriptors, at least.

My...my childhood. ;__; God, I loved that game. You're a genius. I'll never forget how mind-blowing those graphics were at the time. ;p

EDIT: Holy crap, one of the 23 arcades that still has a Virtual On machine happens to be in my state...and only 20 minutes away, too. Time to relive the past. :D

There are versions available on the Saturn, DC, PS2, and 360 as well.

Sounds like Deus Ex HR, is that too recent?

There is one game I do t remember the name of. I think it was on the C64, you where an ostrich running around in a colorful world searching for colorful eggs. But to get to those eggs you need keys to open doors. Anyone remember that game?

Chuckie Egg had eggs and ostriches, but I don't think you played as an ostrich and I don't remember doors. But you do collect eggs. Only other C64 egg games that spring to mind are Dino Eggs, and then Dizzy from the Dizzy series was an egg person. Any of those?
