Games you remember, names you don't

Im trying to remember this one: came out around 92-94, it wasn Out of This World/Flashback type of game set in this dystopian universe. You played some dude and you had this little robot buddy with you that Im guessing could help you solve puzzles.

Beneath a Steel Sky?

If anyone gets this one I'll be mighty grateful.

Played around 1998/99 on a pc in the UK.

It was a game where you dug up items which you then went back in time to solve some kind of mystery based on the item you found. I can remember 2 eras mainly Roman and Victorian England. I want to say it used an isometric view but that might be off. One of my friends also remembers the game as well but we've had no luck pinning it down.

All right, so when I was really young, there was this game on NES that I barely remember...definitely one of the first games I've ever played. But I barely remember anything about it. You started off in some sort of castle. You could pick, I think, one character out of 8. After this character died, I believe you would receive another character, and you only died when all 8 characters were dead. That is basically all I remember. I'd be hugely impressed if anyone can name this from the little information I have.
Advanced Dungeons and Dragons: Dragonlance: Heroes of the Lance?

There's this weird little game on Game Gear. You choose from 2 (or 3) levels. Each level is similar to a Zelda 1 dungeon with rooms and tiles you can break. Basically you just go around the level collecting all treasures and once you have everything you go back and talk to the person at the start of the level (and apparently you die if you don't have everything).

Dragon Crystal?

Back in the Commodore 64 age, I played a car game, with a top down view. I think the game consisted of collecting letters. There was other cars on the road who you could jump over, and the map was kinda big. I was 6-7 years at the time, so my memory is a bit sketchy. But I think there was a cartoonish graphics.

Burning Rubber?

Well, maybe you guys can help me out with this one.
It's a PC game, Made somewhere between 1995 - 2000
It had a sequel that seemed very different from the Original in that you could actually play as both humans and aliens in death Matches.

The original game was about an alien invasion on Earth. You start somewhere in Africa, in a US Military base, controlling a turret. After successfully repelling an attack, you get to drive a helicopter, then a jet, and a futuristic tank all of which you could repair at certain bases. The other locations were some place that was covered in snow, some city, then finally an assault on the aliens from the moon. You use nothing but vehicles or turrets and every location had a certain number of missions. That's about all I remember at the moment

I used to love the PC Gamer demo disks. If someone can find a log of the demos featured on those back from 93-2002 I'd be really grateful. There were a couple of games I always wanted to play again. For reference:

I know one of the games was Alien Carnage by Apogee?

Hocus Pocus

Some first person Star Wars game.

another side scrolling platform game that had some dude named JACK? or Jack? Or something like that.

There was an aliens or alien like ripoff. I wish I could find a list just so I could play a few of the games I can't remember.

Trying to remember the name of a game I played on a pc demo disk from the 90's. It was some kind of top down action game, and it had pretty rocking music. One thing I remember the most was that it had an anime styled intro but I am not sure if it was a Japanese game. Don't think the game was that great from the demo, but I just want to know what it was to maybe find it and listen to the cool music again.

Incoming?

Old pc platformer in which you were a sleepwalking dog jumping around in the city.

Sleepwalker? (Although the dog was helping the sleepwalker, he wasn't sleepwalking himself)

Thanks, yeah somehow I knew I had gotten it wrong somewhere.
How about this one then: It's an old pc adventurer, very myst like, where your walking around in old Venice (or was it Atlantis?), solving puzzles and stuff. IIRC a demo of the game was included with Riven.

This one could be challenging.

I remember a good while ago (2002-2005) I was playing a free online game with a friend.

I was a top-down fast paced "shooter" with (I think) manga like graphics. I remember one of the classes/characters having a shot that could bounce on walls, and I also remember there was one level that was covered with ice, so your character would be sliding around the map.

Top down space game, sort of controlled like asteroids. You went and explored different parts of the galaxy, there was missions where you could destroy things, also racing missions, also if you hurt innocent ships or cop ships they would take you to ship court.

Also I think it took place inside your computer? Like you could fight "viruses" in your computer and certain areas were actual directory names and some units where .exes?

It's an extremely vague memory. SPAZ reminded me of it.

I think I answered this already earlier this page, Dragon Crystal.
Sorry I missed your answer. Dragon Crystal is not it though.

Edit: just found out something while browsing videos of Sega games on Youtube: The death animation in this game appears just like in Alex Kidd and Teddy Boy both which were developed by Sega.

Dragon Crystal is the only US-released action-RPG on the Game Gear, though, and Sylvan Tale pretty much the only Japan-only one (unless you count Fray, but that's basically a shmup with RPG elements). So if it's not either of those, it's got to be something in a different genre. What is that game, a puzzle game or something? If it's not a puzzle game, the only thing I can even vaguely think of is Arena: Maze of Death. Maybe it's that, but I'm not betting on it.

It's not a RPG game. Each of the two levels is like a dungeon you'd see in Zelda 1 and you just go around rooms finding stuffs.

An Old Western Point and Click ala Myst possibly for the Mac. I remember playing it at a friends house when I was younger and remarking on how a sign in the game said "Macintosh Bitch" or something to that effect. Any ideas?

It's an NES game, and its a side scrolling action/platformer.

It had a similar mechanic to Blaster Master where you could get in and out of your vehicle. In this case, if I remember correctly, the vehicle was like those two legged AT-STs from Star Wars.

I was just thinking about all the old edutainment games I use to play in my grade schools computer class (Math Blaster, Word Munchers, etc.), and there's this one game I can just barely remember in that same style, I really hope one of you guys will remember it too.

The one thing I remember about the game was a Mario Bros. style level where you played as a little drop of water, and you jumped around and climbed ladders to collect things, mainly numbers I think. There were powerups you could pick up too, like a snowflake that would freeze all the enemies on the screen. I think there was another screen where you could just move back and forth and you had to collect or avoid things being thrown from above. The water drop guy had a few little voice clips that would play sometimes, too.

I'm sure there was more to the game, but this is the only aspect I remember. Can anyone tell me more about this game? Not being able to fill in these blanks in my memory is driving me crazy.

Okay, it's a Super Nintendo game. You are a bunch of trolls are something. You have musical instruments as your weapons. It's a sidescroller. That's all I remember.

Maybe someone here can help me remember this game. PC game, probably pre 1995, first person rpg/dungeon crawler. I don't remember too many details but I do remember the town you start off in was quite maze-like with lots of brown walls. And there was a scripted encounter in the first proper dungeon with some slimes I think. I know it's not much to go on but I haven't been able to pin down which game it was. Almost sure there was a magic missile spell which makes me lean towards a d&d license but really I can't remember.

Played in the arcades in early '90 ( bar actually ).
Single screen action game ( ala bobble bubble ) where you shot laser instead of bubbles, if you run out of time something follow you to kill you ( again ala BB ) I think it was a sun.
It had co-op and after you complete each stage you receive a part (of a picture ) of a young lady ( naked ). After you complete the (naked) lady picture you'll get parts to dress her ( or maybe it was the opposite ? ).

Maybe one of the Eye of the Beholder games?

Pretty sure it's not any of them having looked at a couple of lets plays there. The one I'm thinking of I'm almost positive is completely turn based, and I'm pretty sure the starting location is in a town facing a shop/inn or something similar. I can't remember but I feel like there might be random encounters in the town as well? Although that could be made up.
