Games you remember, names you don't

Maybe someone here can help me remember this game. PC game, probably pre 1995, first person rpg/dungeon crawler. I don't remember too many details but I do remember the town you start off in was quite maze-like with lots of brown walls. And there was a scripted encounter in the first proper dungeon with some slimes I think. I know it's not much to go on but I haven't been able to pin down which game it was. Almost sure there was a magic missile spell which makes me lean towards a d&d license but really I can't remember.

Not able to break it down much, but turn-based FP RPGs I can think of that start in towns:

Ancients 1: The Deathwatch
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancients_1:_Deathwatch
(Perhaps Ancients 2? Not seen it first-hand)

The Bard's Tale

Moraff's Revenge/World/Dungeons of the Unforgiven

Defenders of Oasis.
The one I'm looking for is not an RPG game. It's more of a puzzle game sort of. Whole game should be indoor, Zelda 1 dungeon like. You can break tiles and walls or something to reveal hidden treasures. Also don't think there's a lot of colors.

specifics please, who or what did you play as? what type of enemies if any and what did the person you returned to look like?

Don't remember what the main character is like or if there's any enemies. Although I do remember this is pretty much how you look like when you die in that game so I'd say there's a good chance that game's made by Sega.

Edit: Found it! It's called Fushigi no Oshiro Pit Pot (or just Pit Pot). I can only see it on Master System though...

Ha! Good deal, thats super old school, i would have never found it!

Played in the arcades in early '90 ( bar actually ).
Single screen action game ( ala bobble bubble ) where you shot laser instead of bubbles, if you run out of time something follow you to kill you ( again ala BB ) I think it was a sun.
It had co-op and after you complete each stage you receive a part (of a picture ) of a young lady ( naked ). After you complete the (naked) lady picture you'll get parts to dress her ( or maybe it was the opposite ? ).

Whoopee !! / Pipi e Bibi's ?
it's the only BB like game with naked ladies i can think of, but i don't think that's it.

You sir, are a genius. Got it first go, it was definitely Ancients 1. I must have gotten it off a shareware disc or something. Looking at a walkthough on gfaqs it turns out it was a yellow mold you fight, not a slime but definitely the same game. Amazing how much clearer those graphics are through nostalgia goggles. Thanks a million, gonna have to track down a copy.

Looking for the name of the game that I had the demo of in the early 90s on the Mac.

2D platformer. Advanced screen-by-screen rather than scrolling. Character was very small on the screen.
Dude was dressed in red and black, and you had swords ( I think).
Levels look like Dr. Seuss (funny trees and vegetation and background).
There were red venus fly-trap plants that tried to eat (like Mario, but no pipes and much more aggressive).
Game was hard as balls, but I was 9-11.
(gorgeous) 256-colour graphics.

Any help? 5000 internet points up for grabs.

I have a really weird, vague memory that I doubt anyone will be able to match up with a game, but I'm throwing it out here...

I remember being freaked out as a kid by a Commodore 64 game that featured what I believe was a giant, talking clam. This would have been between 1986 and 1988, but I have no idea when the game may have come out or if this memory is just a patchwork I've stitched together in my head of other crap that scared me a child. ... Although I'm not sure why I would have been scared of a talking clam. I'm totally cool with them as an adult.

Thanks for the reply! I don't think it was either one of those, though.

I hate to sound vague, but the only thing I remember was the giant, screen-filling clam. And I could be mis-remembering that. It may not have been a clam at all, but I'm pretty sure I didn't completely make it up.

Trying to remember a PC game in the mid or late 90's.

I remember it being some kind of sci-fi game. I got control of a futuristic looking vehicle real early, drove it outside or something, then started shooting crap from the vehicle.

Seems like it was a vehicle escape thing. At least at the start.

I vaguely remember it maybe starting with a C maybe having an X in it.

'Vehicle escape thing' makes me think of Quarantine. The era and genre's about right, too. Letters are completely wrong if it's that, though!

I know everyone is losing sleep over this, but I think I found the game that had caused me so much fear and suffering as a small child.

It was Master of the Lamps. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJwxNJl_XzY)

Please, allow me to explain. I haven't found any documentation of this, but my older brother and I both recall a technique you could perform on the C64 that would somehow blow up the graphics and make everything on the screen look big and stupid. I don't know if this was specific to our C64 or not.
I'm thinking that the way the squares would zoom in toward the screen in Master of the Lamps combined with whatever my brother was doing to fuck with the graphics made my idiot child-brain think he was communing with some kind of giant digital clam that was undoubtedly planning to possess my soul.

Of course, I could still be completely wrong and I'm still remembering something else, but that seems like the most plausible explanation to me.

Okay. There was this game on the original Gameboy (Black and White) that I use to play all the time, it was a left to right shooter (Kinda like Gradius), and the bosses that were in it were incredibly strange. I know you could probably say that about a lot of these types of games, but these were pretty unique.

I wish I could remember more information, but this is all I got. I've been looking for this game for years.

^ Those are some pretty weird enemies, but the artstyle in this was more serious looking.

The ship kinda looked like this.

It looked like it had a beak on the front, although it wasn't a beak, it was just the shape of it.

There was this anime shooter-type game for Game Gear, you could choose whether your vehicle's cannon was positioned to the left, right or middle. The heroine was a red-haired chick.

Red Line ?

EDIT:
Never mind.

Theres a game I've played with my brother on the SNES back then, which I remember liking alot, but don't know the game's name.

- SNES game.
- The gameplay and weapons are almost the same as Gunstar heroes.
- I just remember one stage that the background is full of rockets (I think the first level?)
- I remember one boss that is basically a flying head.
- My favorite weapon is a weapon similar to Zero's (Megaman) weapon.

Sorry if there wasn't much information, I've only played that game when I was 9-10 years old. :'(

Nope, appreciate your try though! The game did have multiplayer and this seems to not have a weapon other than the one hes using.

Yes.

It was a DOS game, and it was you trying to stop gofers from destroying your garden I believe. There were carrots involved if I remember correctly.

Xbox game with zombies and I remember to beat first boss you had to use shovel, awesome game cant remember why i never finished it. Anyone know the game i am talking about?

I remember this one very vaguely and no amount of weak-ass search terms have ever resulted in me finding it. It was a sci-fi adventure game (likely DOS or very early Windows). You were the commander(?) of a ship and you could travel to different places. One puzzle involved giving perfume (purchased from a sort of mall) to a security robot. It didn't take itself very seriously.

Any ideas?

Innocent Until Caught?

Old racing game.

Would've played it ohhh probably late 90s-early 00s. Arcade style. PC. Sort of like Mario Kart. Animals (I think) as the characters.

For some reason I suddenly remembered this educational PC game I used to play in daycare when I was little, and it's driving me crazy that I can't remember what it was. It was under the sea, and I believe you played as a starfish...or something similar, I think. I can't really remember much else beyond that, though... But I used to play it all the time, lol.

EDIT: There was also this other educational PC game that we played... I believe it took place in a city and the game played like a board game, and the little games that you have to do taught you things like healthy food you should eat and that drugs are bad, lol.

Freddi Fish ?

I played the heck out of Wacky Wheels. I played the shareware version for so long, and I was sooooo thrilled when my dad finally got me the full version. I wanted to be the panda for forever.

I use to think back to one of the first games I had on our home personal computer, in the middle 90's.

I always thought that the player reminded me of Pacman but the setting was different.
You was moving over an grid of blue wire eating fruits and had to avoid parts in the texture that was missing and other obstacles.

Other games I played was easier to remember as the name was printed on the cart..

One of the Space Quest games?

I recall an educational game set in space, that wasn't Math Blaster.

It had fairly high res art with lots of green splats and wacky text on the interface. Everything was super hip and 90's cool. Radical even.

When you exited to DOS it would say, "Return to DISK OUTER SPACE?"

There was this game I played at a friend's house on PSX.

It was a Strategy RPG, that dealt with puppets/mannequins and such.

I don't remember too many details, but I remember it had puppets/mannequins in it. (I think it revolved around them, but I'm not sure)
