Gamescom: Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 - PC version announced

Good to hear confirmation. They said something about it coming to PC around E3 time frame. Hopefully they'll put LOS and the MGS5 on it too.

Here's the actual pic:

Just beautiful. Cannot wait for this game.

About the PS3 version of LoS...how much of the "OMG runs like shit" comments are GAF hyperbole?

As others have already mentioned, there are definitely some framerate hiccups throughout the game, but it never descends into Skyrim PS3 levels of unplayable.

Will be getting LoS 2 on PS3 for dem throw-fees.

Wasn't Jericho and Scrapland on PC as well? Hopefully those weren't locked at 30 fps. Also, is it possible they could be using Fox Engine? That's made for PC and consoles as well.

please let this one be good as the art direction.

While Art direction is a very important part (i could care less if the game runs in 30fps).
The Music of the game is just as important as the Art direction.

While the music could be good, i think it won't be near the quality as we had in the past side scrolling Castlevania games. :(
(same thing for the 3DS version)

Mercury Steam have actually optimized their engine for the Cell CPU multiprocessing capabilities this time around, LoS budget wasn't nothing out of the ordinary and they preferred more and better artists than multicore-experienced software engineers (rewriting the code wasn't an option) so using the CPU for rendering tasks didn't make the deadlines and they opted for a traditional and cheaper (that budget...) engineering approach which ended hurting the overall performance of the game in both the PS3 and X360 versions of the game. LoS 2 will perform at a locked 30 frames per second with larger areas and better image quality.

As for the PC port of the first game rumours say it will be a bonus of the collectors edition of LoS 2 PC version.

LoS OST was incredible, and this will be too judging by the trailer track they used as it was composed by Araujo.

I have no doubts the OST will be incredible this time aswell.

I played the apparently crappier version for Xbox 360, and never noticed frame rate dips that stood out. The only game as of late I've noticed them with is Borderlands 2 where the game turns to dog shit if too many effects are on screen.

Lords of Shadow is amazing and THE best third person adventure game of all time. PLAY IT!

Music didn't bother me that much, I thought it was decent even though some songs were replayed too much personally. I just want a good game really

How would you adjust the FOV?

Same as in a first person game.

Adjust the degree you view the world in to a wider angle in order to see more of the world.

Great news, I hope the LoS1 rumor is true.

Sounds like they also have a multi-threaded engine as well. Meaning it will scale with multiple cpu cores and hyperthreading. Always nice to see that since most of us have quad core systems.

That would be amazing.

I'm not sure if FOV would bother me much in a 3rd person game as it does in 1st person. It's not like it's a 3rd person over-the-shoulder affair. The reason I adjust FOV in FPS games is that I feel sick if it's set too low. Camera movement in a game like this is completely different, though.

Ive no idea why they showed that E3 trailer and then decided to go silent. It's annoying as this is one of the ganesim most intrigued by.
