Very disappointing event overall.

Huh? Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Super Puzzle Fighter 2, Extreme Ghouls and Ghosts. Very disappointing if you are a Nintendo fan, perhaps. Otherwise this has been a rocking event to read over info and see new trailers.

That too, they didn't even have to mention Nintendo in the article.

Too many PSP ports, although Dead Rising and LP were cool.

Wasn't Puzzle Fighter put on GBA forever ago? :lol

Yes, with slowdown, missing features, etc...

This will be the first time I think they'll get a perfect port! With everything! Sakura song ftw!

I never played it on GBA. Just wondering what the big deal is on that one. I personally HATE the game, simply because people will no skill can get lucky very easily and wipe out a whole screen. One of the most unbalanced puzzle games ever.

Edit: Okay, apparently the "Z" version available has the blocks falling up, does that take away the come from behind wins thing? The little summary in the other thread isn't clear.

I'm sorry, but with a PSP lineup like that, that's not going to happen. I guess they're good, but they're unoriginal.

Stop being so bitter. ;)

Capcom isn't even talking about portables with that statement. They are talking about titles like Dead Rising, Lost Planet, DMC4, RE5.

Okay, then I guess they haven't seen those Japanese 360 sales. ;)

Personally, I'm dissapointed that there was no:

PSP - DMC Portable news/details
PS2 - Resident Evil Outbreak File#3
PSP - Resident Evil Outbreak File P
PS2 - Monster Hunter 2

EDIT: Added MH Dos.

Oh boo hoo.

Capcom is being smart for once. Focusing on the entire world instead of just the Japan marketplace. Dead Rising and Lost Planet could be big sellers in NA and Europe.

I doubt it. But like I said, DR and LP look really great.

But the PSP lineup is simply not up to par at all. It's good for nostalgia, the same way I loved REDS, but Capcom needs to get real about the PSP and offer up the same effort as Namco.

No, they are just concentrating on the worst platforms again. Unless Dead Rising and Lost Planet are also coming to PS3 at launch, Capcom is making the exact same mistake they did with the Capcom 5.

I totally agree on that point, but overall the PSP lineup, while good, for the most part is probably going to appeal to the people that already have PSPs. I think they need some original unique content, even though what they have now is pretty solid. If they had shown some kind of PSP DMC or RE that would be a pretty big deal. Look at that PSP list, those are mostly straight ports/remakes, not even an original title in the series in most cases. They can't just keep dumping quick ports remakes, they need at least an original title in these series to draw people in.

Monster Hunter for PS2 didn't do that well here did it? I know it's fucking huge in Japan, but what about here?

This can´t be all :(

gah! I fully was expecting news of a localization for a new Gyakuten Saiban game for DS, GBA, heck anything will do other than the cell phone thread.

Boo capcom!

I think Capcom is saving Mega Man DS, DMC PSP, Resident Evil PSP (if it exists) and any other new/first time big game unveilings for E3. If they blow it all now they risk being overlooked. I'm not quite sure how much they'll be able to show for the PS3 outside of paper announcements and trailers, and I'm not expecting much 360 or Rev support, so handhelds and new current gen stuff will be big for them IMO.

Summary

very week psp line up I wonder how capcom intends to succed in sales in japan. :lol :lol

A lot of fan boy boo-hooing mixed in on GAF right now, but I'll tell you one thing CVX is totally right about, and it's the same thing that people were ripping on Tim Rogers for in the Famitsu thread - the only way for most publishers to make a good buck on the PSP is to make barebones games or ports. It's simply not worth the money to form the development teams it would take to make truly stunning original ip's that take advantage of the system. Else you would have to port them to the PS2 (ala GTA). There will be some token efforts by Sony based teams and other big companies who need to trade for console goodwill on the PS3. Capcom is just trying to be smart.

And god bless them because if I'm going to have my PSP sitting here, it needs to have PowerStone in it. That's the best port news I've heard in awhile.

So PSP and the Xbox 360 are the worst platforms that capcom is focusing on? Oh shut up.

Business-wise I completely agree, but something's got to give on the other side too. The only reason I don't go buy a PSP right now is that most titles I'd be interested in are either port/remakes that I already have, or it was remade for the worse or I don't care about the new stuff. GTA LCS was a good example of the kind of thing the system needs more of; new installments in existing franchises that people are comfortable with, then they can start putting out more niche/original IP titles. The PSP also needs some Suikoden in the US dammit.

You just continue to make a fool of yourself.

And that's saying something coming from someone who does it a lot.

I think we know why :p

Jesus, what were you guys expecting? E3 is around the corner, I would imagine Capcom still has a number of announcements up their sleeve, and is likely saving the big ones for E3. I didn't expect anything from the Gamer's Day, and I'm quite happy to simply have some nice announcements like these.

At this point its probably better for Capcom to focus on the PSP. There isn't really a publisher focusing as much on that system.

Between Nintendo and Square-Enix now coming on the DS, it's going to be tough for the other Japanese pubs to get in a word edgewise unless they're willing to make DS games from the ground up.

Think about it, Power Stone DS may sound like a decent idea, until you realize Jump Superstars 2 and/or Smash Brothers DS are probably also in development/planning stages right now.

I have a hunch Capcom will support the Revolution quite nicely though.

VJ:RHR on PSP? What's the point? It's a bad game that sold poorly on PS2 and GC.

Ease of port and money.

Seems to me part of the problem of this game on console (the shittiness of what's going on on-screen) will be even more of an issue here. Unless they've remade it or something :lol
