Capcom's 2006 PSP lineup is awesome. I'm definitely buying every single one of these. I'm so glad Powerstone is back!!
hey most likely won't announce anything for the new systems. Instead, they'll just show what's already been announced and maybe the odd title for the PSP/PS2.
nothing new usually comes out of these. Companies usually just show more media on games they've already announced and announce/show new games at big conferences
You're not gonna get any details. Embargos.
soundwave05 said:At this point its probably better for Capcom to focus on the PSP. There isn't really a publisher focusing as much on that system.

And that's saying something coming from someone who does it a lot.
Chris Michael said:That's BS. Tekken was just announced FYI, and Namco has alot of other games in development too. Konami is a very strong supporter as well. And even if most of Capcom/Namco/Konami's killer app games are ports, they're damn awesome ports, and things like Powerstone 1&2 or Suikoden1&2 are just really damn good deals.
And I agree completely. This conference make Nintendo fans am cry.![]()
I hope so, DMC4 + MGS4 will make me buy a PS3, but at this rate I'll have to try and settle for more average games or buy a 360 as well. I'm definitely no hardcore gamer, sorta just a gamer since I'm no casual either since I actually play all the games I buy and master them as best I can, but I'm not a hardcore gamer who spends all his cash on gaming devices, and I'm not a millionaire either so I have to consider other things to buy as well. But that doesn't mean I want the console without the best offering either. It's probably the wisky talking right now, but I think all this exclusivity crap is getting ridiculous with next generation.trmas said:360 fans need to calm down. The 360 and PSP are the worst platforms at this time because they don't have the userbase to make good sales. Sorry if it hurts your feelings, but its true. But I'm not surprised. The excellent stuff for PS3 and DS will be unveiled at E3 where they can get maximum effect. They won't neglect the market leaders, but they want to support all platforms.

Ponn01 said:Agree. Capcom has been kicking some ass lately. I just wish everyone could afford or have access to all systems out there. There would be a hell of a lot less whining or bitching during these announcements. Granted I doubt it would be completely gone, but at least it would be less. Can't wait till E3 :lol
KDups said:Is any developer actually going to use the "infrastructure" feature of the PSP? This "ad-hoc" stuff is great and all, but seriously, how about some online Powerstone or Super Puzzle Fighter II?

cvxfreak said:I hope by kicking ass, you don't mean the PSP ports. RE4, Lost Planet, Dead Rising, DMC3SE, and hell, I'll settle for the Mega Man remakes as klcking ass. But these PSP ports don't kick ass, at least enough to make a whole event out of it.
That said, Capcom needs to port CV to PSP ASAP.![]()
I agree, we should call them ports/remakes.svenuce said:Please stop calling them ports. Most of these titles are recreated from the ground up to take advantage of the PSP hardware (Powered up, Maverick Hunter, UG&G, Monster Hunter Freedom, etc.). Puzzle Fighter, RHR and Powerstone are the only real ports and hopefully they'll be good ones.
Ponn01 said:Funny you didn't include RE DS in there...
Considering the amount of people that are excited for the so called "ports", then yes I would say they are kicking ass. Since I play my PSP more then my Dreamcast (which is now boxed up to make room) a Power Stone Collection is awesome. Ultimate G and G is awesome. A Capcom puzzle collection including Super Puzzle Fighter 2 is perfect for a widescreen handheld is awesome.
If people want to try to downplay these "ports" though you better hope you aren't caught hyping all the FF ports to DS and GBA. Hate to see anyone labeled a hypocrite you know.
*remembers Square-Enix FF announcements from awhile back and insuing thread*
Whoops, too late.![]()
cvxfreak said:That's because REDS isn't my definition of Capcom kicking ass. However, a new RE game would.
I've actually got very little problems with ports. I understand their necessity for any and all videogame systems and I've been happy with Nintendo's offerings on GBA and Capcom's recent remake of RE on DS. But when ports/remakes/adjustments make up a sizable percentage (I'm gonna say 60%, don't quote me on that) of your lineup for a handheld system, then there's something wrong. The fact Capcom threw an event for this is almost insulting. If I weere a journalist and had to fly out to Vegas, I simply would have wasted my time.

Capcom luvs PSP that is for sure! WOW. SPF2 YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
Ponn01 said:Well, you are certainly entitled to your opinion but I only see a couple of you right now exclaiming it. And so far it's been a tag team effort in each psp thread. We understand both you and jj984jj's position and there is no further need to repeat it ad nauseum in each thread so you can stop now and let the bunch of people that ARE excited and plan on BUYING these games to discuss them.
Thanks.

GaimeGuy said:I have an honest question, guys:
Why is it that almost all PSP ports seem to be met with excitement and positivity, while any and all Nintendo handheld ports seem to be met with mixed or positive responses at first, and then become negative?
I honestly don't understand why people can get so excited over PSP ports, yet criticize the SNES & NES ports for the GBA and the Mario 64 port for the DS (and vice-versa).
The thing that people were ripping on Tim Rogers famitsu piece most for was that it was borderline incoherent, and it didn't really bring anything new to this particular debate anyway if you manage to work out what he was trying to say.Musashi Wins! said:A lot of fan boy boo-hooing mixed in on GAF right now, but I'll tell you one thing CVX is totally right about, and it's the same thing that people were ripping on Tim Rogers for in the Famitsu thread - the only way for most publishers to make a good buck on the PSP is to make barebones games or ports. It's simply not worth the money to form the development teams it would take to make truly stunning original ip's that take advantage of the system. Else you would have to port them to the PS2 (ala GTA). There will be some token efforts by Sony based teams and other big companies who need to trade for console goodwill on the PS3. Capcom is just trying to be smart.
kaching said:Without acknowledging that, Tim's and CVX's argument is lopsided and inaccurate as an explanation for the kind of software we see brought to the PSP at this time.
Not every port on the PSP is looked upon with anticipation though. I love Romance of the Three Kingdoms, but I don't really care if Koei brings those over (putting them all together on one UMD though would be cool).GaimeGuy said:It just seems like there's a much different response to the PSP ports than to the GBA ones. Is it the appeal of having games from current gen on the go?
You didn't take exception to the way Musashi generalized your comments and you've certainly remarked on the general PSP library to the same effect in other threads. As for Capcom, this is nothing out of the ordinary for them.cvxfreak said:And I've made no remarks on the general PSP library either, and won't. This is about Capcom.
