[Gamesradar] The First Berserker: Khazan missed sales targets, but Nexon says it was still a success because it will popularize Dungeon & Fighter

I'm part of the problem as I've been waiting on a sale. I need to finish up Lords of the Fallen then move on to Clair Obscur and finally go forward to beat Remnant II, so I have not needed to fill the soulslike gap enough to buy a full priced game. That said, as soon as I see a sale I may buy 2 copies since I like playing these games with my bro.

As far as the game itself, it looks amazing and I'm super hyped.

I do think I know why it might not do super well. The cel-shaded art style reminds people in the west of anime and unfortunately that is a turnoff for many(a turnON for me but sadly many lesser-hipsters here are proud of hating anime games).

I wish I could turn my ire to them as they know not what they do, but better to piss in the ocean and call it a devil because the effect would be greater. To the uninformed reading this, it's not an anime game, it's a soulslike. Also this game has nothing to do with Berserk.

Imagine the brain it takes to think a berserk game is a turnoff though. If we all had healthy minds that weren't biased against precious anime, then being an anime looking game with berserk in the title would cause this game to have all the sales. Son I am disappoint.

What a shame, I really enjoyed it. Great gameplay, art style and soundtrack. I found the world and characters interesting enough and ended up reading quite a lot of wiki stuff about it.

I would have bought it, but the demo was hard as all fuck, so I said screw it, no time to get good at another game.

Good. Enough Soulslike clones on the market. I've had it with those "difficult" games that are just annoying.

I could see the game having strong legs.
The word of mouth seems to be pretty positive so it will probably continue to sell over time as it goes on sale in the future, specially in the second half of the year that doesn't seem quite as packed as the first half in terms of releases.

Fell off it with 3 bosses left. It's nothing special in the world of souls like games.

Lies of P is still the best attempt to capture what makes fromsoft games so good.
