sales say otherwise, 3.3 million to 300,000. Quality, i dont know, i only played halo 2, which I thought was great. But this forum is not indicative of the general public I think is well understood.

Yes, well understood. I think that was established like ten billion pages ago, so why repeat it?

This is a thread about what people on this forum think. The point is that right now GAFfers have voted, and their vote says MGS3 is #1 by quite a wide margin.

Because you had to add in your original post a shot at xbots, not needed. So I decided you needed a dose of reality rather than sheltering your thoughts in these forums.


Why cant you just say MGS is number 1 on this forum without your little xbots blurb?

Dormer- I'm up to way before Ninja Scooter, and I've got way higher numbers for MGS 3 already. Could you check the math and see if you're wrong? If not, I'll just adjust those top three accordingly.

I haven't played Katamari Damacy long enough to put it in the top 10, and I didn't like Halo 2 at all. I would have ranked Fable higher, but my Xbox sucks, and games crash too often to have a great time. I haven';t enjoyed any of the previous MGS games, so I didn't even try Snake Eater, and Donkey Konga was only top 10 worthy while fucked up.

That's just padding stats. If you've only played 2 games, you shouldn't try and make a top 10 list. There were many great games released this year, if you can only find 2 games worthy of a top 10 list, your scores shouldn't be ignored, they should count negativelyu towards the games you listed.

Look through the entire thread, lots of people padding stats. I mean theres even a guy here that left Halo 2 out (even though he absolutly loves it) to give props to other lesser known games.

(you know who you are ;P )

Its his individual vote, thats all that counts
 
Come on, everyone is padding stats for the games they want to VOTE for. That's the entire point of this excerise, to vote for games you want to see as GOTY here. I had an incomplete list, and so did many other people. It says in the original post that incomplete lists are acceptable, don't turn this into some sort of finger-pointing game where one person's vote "should" count more or less than someone elses, that's just lame and underhanded. :P

I understand that some people want to make sure the games they like get ranked higher, but at least put some effort into it. Listing only 2 games is retarded though, try to get it to at least 5. If Cubsfan wants to keep games from overtaking Halo2 and Ninja Gaiden, he can list shitty games (lie to himself and everyone else) in positions 3 through 10. I just want to see a little effort.
It's not as if these awards mean anything. I don't understand why anyone would want to lie about what games they enjoyed, it's really quite sad.

Edit: Then you have these stupid lists which have a game at #1, and then the rest at 8, 9, and 10. That makes no fucking sense. You might think that game 1 is alot better than any other game you listed, but in a list like this, the next game is #2 not #8.

Yes, it's so incredibly stupid to want to give some games significantly more points than others. I'm not too hot on the 10-9-8-7-etc. system for tallying scores, so I purposely gave my non-GotY choices lower ranks to reflect what I thought of them in comparison to my #1 pick.
