Gaming-Age recommendations that SUCK!

This can be made into a general recommendations that suck thread, but I want to express my disappointment at Versus.

"You wish to challenge me, the Master of All Martial Arts?! The Fighter?!"

:lol

Versus is so stupid that it's funny.

Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I've been recommended things that I've loved and things that I haven't. It's all just a matter of everyone having a different personality to go with their different opinions.

For the record, I love Versus, Suikoden, My Sassy Girl, Mark of Kri, and almost everything else in this thread that is listed as crap. I thought Boondock Saints was highly overrated and not nearly as good as most people think. One of my favorite movies of all time is Magnolia and one of my favorite video games of all time is Megaman Legends, both of which most people seem to hate.

But hey, that's what makes us different!
:D

wild arms 3.
versus, which is a piece of crap. no, i mean its really really really bad. quite possibly the worst movie i have ever seen.

YESSSSS. At least they actually tried to stick to the western theme for longer than the intro movies this time instead of immediately dumping us into the FFVIish bullshit. Shame the rest of the game past the first couple of hours tumbles like a boulder.

And die, whoever said Majora's Mask

Casshern was a landmark in asian action cinema too according to this forum :lol but that goes along with the 20 pages threads about a "groundbreaking" anime that eventually ends up in the saturday morning FOX kids cartoon segment for some reasons :lol :lol

"It's suddenly worse in english! It's such a mature, deep series"
Hey, the fact that some morons decided to put One Piece on the FoxBox, chop about 5 minutes out of every episode, skip certain episodes entirely, and delete the entire soundtrack (as in every single piece of music) is in no way, shape, or form a fault of the original show, and that isn't even saying anything about the (grossly) edited dialogue or the voice acting or the absurd visual edits (supersoakers, spring-loaded hammers in lieu of guns, and what have you).

And besides, One Piece isn't really "groundbreaking" or anything. It's just massively entertaining. :)

Anyway, I can usually sniff the bad recommendations from a mile away, so I don't THINK I've ever been burned by a GAF recommendation, but I could be wrong about that. If I think of one, I'll let you know.

I guess I can't really answer Suikoden 3, as I was hyped for it based on Suikoden 2. I wish someone had warned me, though.

Dizee Rascal - Boy in the Corner.

Chick Fil-a.

I went into Versus expecting stupid fun like Army of Darkness but it's problem is that it drags for 2 freaking hours of stupidity. That 101st zombie kill got beyond old and into annoying. In this way, it's very much like House of the Dead.

Man, what the fuck

You heard me. Okay, it was slightly less blah than BK or McDonalds, and without the nausea that their hamburgers give me, but after 4-5 tries, I had had enough.

Amplitude pretty much sucks, but I paid $2 for it, so no complaints there.

I can't get into any of the music everyone seems to love here either.

Then again, if it weren't for this board, I'd have never played Gitaroo Man, Astro Boy, Katamari Damacy, and many other great games. I am forever in your debt.

Beyond Good & Evil.

Lame Zelda clone, with horrible stealth elements & really short. Nice soundtrack though & it was bargain bin, but still.... it was a total let down, considering all the hype.

oh my

I've not enjoyed Halo so far, I'm a bit bored.. but I'm still early in the campaign. It could get good I think.

Someone here recommended me Metal Arms: Glitch in the System. Lots of people at IGN did too. It was okay, but got old fast for me.

Worse still, someone recommended Gotcha Force. Ugh.

My vote would be Unbreakable if I hadn't already seen this coma inducer before I read about it on GAF.

So instead I'll have to go with Tail of the Sun for PS, it's like they hired a 3 year old to make the game then stopped development a year and a half before it was done and shipped it out to retail.

I almost listed this, but I have never even gotten myself to play enough of it to really judge it. Completely uncompelling.

Tales of Symphonia--button masher; silly plot
PN03--terrible level design and controls, though fans will argue that this makes the game "hardcore" or "old school"

Franz Ferdinand--yeah, I fell for that one, too

If I hadn't seen it before the rest of GAF so that I had only myself to blame, I, Robot would be on the list as well.

I guess this is the thread for it, I saw blade runner, and boy does that movie really really suck. Why is this a classic?

In the spirit of the thread, I bit my tongue when many, many favorites were listed....

...but I just hit my limit!

A: Spectacular set design, a compelling thrilled with existential themes, great sci-fi setting, great cinematography.
