Gaming Stuff in Toronto?

Since all the talk is about Pacific Mall (which is about as far away from downtown as Tibet is) I'll chime in with some mom and pop recommendations. Game Centre at Yonge and Charles (near the bloor/yonge subway stop) is a great little store. You'll find the best prices there, but unlike other countries (since we're just like you!) I doubt you'll find any canadian-exclusive items or anything like that. There's another place like that (Game Shack) that's on Yonge and Dundas, underground at the Atrium on Bay. If you're used to Japanese stores, you're going to seriously be let down, but hey, they're better than EB!

I go to school downtown, so I usually head down to both of these stores about once a week. Game Center is great for used DVDs (only beaten by that used CD/DVD place 5 minutes south of Game Center on Yonge that's name eludes me at the moment) and Game Shack has a pretty decent selection of Anime stuff.

heh...Thank god my friend Ken worked there and would allow me to play a couple of minutes. I remember the first time we got Actraiser to work. (heavy Japanese text and no clue what we were doing) But don't get it twisted. VC closed, but Andrew had money. (7 digit wealth) The rumor was that Andrew didn't like paying the GOV their "fair share".

I live in North Bay and that's about 4 hours away from Toronto. When I visit my cousin there he takes me to a Chinese mall where they sell lots of copied games and other illegal things. I also go to a gaming store on Yonge Street that's inside of a tiny mall. I think the store was called Game Centre or Game Shack but I don't remember too well. I miss Toronto. North Bay is soooo boring! :(
Hey, GreekBoy.

:lol

Another great spot for used DVD's is a store next to the World's Biggest Bookstore, on a side street off Yonge opposite HMV. Got a lot of Asian DVD's as well, if you're into that sort of thing. World's Biggest Bookstore has a pretty good selection of new DVD's themselves, located at the back.

No I'm not Greek. My father is full Newfie (English) and my mother is of Romanian, French and Belgium descent. I like the odd gaming store but my favourite store I love to visit when in Toronto is on Queen Street called "Artizia" and they have some amazing clothes for petite women but are a bit on the pricey side. :)

what's the job market like in Canada? I've been thinking about moving there - to get close to the snow + us (seattle / vancouver).. might start an OT discussion but i had a look and it seems like FLINT MIGHIGAN all over :lol
