I've had an account on Okcupid for like 2 years and I have never received a picture of a guy who is showing me his genitals. You can always write on your profile not looking for pictures of cocks in my inbox. The reason I like okcupid is because I've had a much different experience compared to other websites were a lot of users are interested in dick with a pasion. Men with muscles :/ not my preference, hooray for "normal" or toned.

Wow you are an attractive guy Mr. Ivysaur I'm sure you will get a lot of dates on your own just by your looks but remember to show them your pokemon so you attract quality men :)

Same here, never got anything close to a picture of someone's junk on Okcupid.
What I like about that site is that it's not as hook-up oriented as other websites.

LA is a city that's pretty big on physical appearance so unfortunately you'll probably have to sort out guys who are worth you while from all the vapid people.
My friend lives in LA but he has a boyfriend (and they are in a monogamous relationship). You haven't been there for a long time iirc, so don't get all jaded yet ;)

I haven't gotten dick pics on OKCupid... just Grindr. Which I might delete.

Well, no surprise there. That's what Grindr is for. You shouldn't be looking for a serious-relationship type of guy on that shit.

I joined OKCupid.

Ugh.

I do have a date on Thursday, though.

Things I'm starting to hate about LA gays:

- I go to the gym when I have time. Why is it something that's practically worshiped?

- I'm highly ambitious and working on my career. All some of these guys do is go out, get fucked up, and do recreational drugs.

- What ever happened to monogomy, or at least an attempt to be honest?

- STOP SENDING ME PICTURES OF YOUR JUNK IT IS NOT A TURN ON

Congrats! Welcome to the horror of online dating. (Not that real life dating is any better...)

I'm only saying that because I just joined some sites myself a month or so ago. I'm semi-regretting it because of the same reasons you have.

....But I'm holding out on the hope that I'll meet someone nice eventually. So good luck to the both of us!

I joined my first online-dating site when I was 23 years old, with the same hopes: new friends, new people, the possibilities... :)

...I'm 29 now. :(

I would ask you out in a hear beat. Its a total crime your single. Youre look like a super hero, but like in disguise, and such a great smile too.

I have a new crush

Ivsaur, don't you work in the TV industry? That was the impression I got during the TV cancellation watch thread.

Good luck with OKCupid, most people I spoke with were flakes and I've concluded that internet dating isn't really my thing.

ch.. where have you been?

I know. I briefly had a grindr account. But I never really talked to people on it. And alas, most Philly guys don't seem to like us minority folk:

"Hi guys! Just a chill dude here. Looking for good conversation and a possible friendship with a nice guy who shares similar interests. Lets just chat and see where it goes. Not just looking to hook up, just meet a nice guy! :)

(Sorry, but not into Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Middle Easterns, Native Americans, Canadians, OR Klingon! Not racist!)"

I think after the 10th one of those profiles I gave up. :(

Yeah, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one to notice this. However, I do appreciate guys that are at least up front about what they are looking for.

Anyway, I tried using Grindr as a way to find interesting people to converse with, but I guess that was pretty naive of me. Not to mention the app itself isn't really a great chat program.

When I was using Grindr one of the most unattractive things a guy could ask me was 'Are you foreign?'. I'm sure an argument can be made in defence of such questions but I just don't like it. Heaven forbid I was a Polish or Lithuanian guy. Even being white isn't enough for these types, got to be local. Ugh.

On OkCupid too I noticed that a lot of guys answered the 'Would you strongly prefer to date someone of your own skin color / racial background?' question with a 'Yes'.

I just don't understand! Now, I've mostly only dated people who are the same race as me, but that's just because that's who I know.

A hot guy is a hot guy surely.

That being said, there are a lot of guys who would sleep with someone just because they had a sexy accent or beautiful olive skin, so I guess it works both ways?

Ugh, I get that a lot. Lots of guys think I'm not actually spanish just because I have light skin and dirt blond hair.

There's a dude in there that's using a William Levy picture.
I once called out a guy for using a pic of Jake Gyllenhaal's chest as their profile pic. Don't know how they think that everyone doesn't know that's not really them.

Sad that I knew it was Jake Gyllenhaal's chest though... XD.

Why does not being sexually attracted to old people or certain races qualify someone as a "douchebag"?

Stupid website.
I think it's less in the personal taste than in the combination of the profiles and the way the users present themselves.

Awesome website.

How do you guys deal with being cut off by an ex you were in love with, yet still having to see them?

I have an ex whom I dated for almost 2 years. He was my first experience as a bottom, and the first time I could say I loved someone... However they inexplicably deleted me from FB, stopped returning my calls and texts (This was about a year after our breakup but we were still very friendly and hooked up from time to time)

A month later, come to find out (Through twitter, they still had me as a follower) they are trying to start a singing/musical career, and their songs were mostly derogatory songs about women. So I guess they did it for image, but everytime I see them on my twitter feed, or our mutual friends talk about him, I just think about him being the only one I could talk to about some stuff. I truly considered them close to my heart, but I will probably not be able to speak to them again :'(

im sad, GAF. Last time I spoke to them was a few months ago, but absence makes my heart grow fonder

I have a bit of a thing for Canadians! Well, not really the French Cannucks, but the others... The light accent, particularly on the west coast, is nice. I was saddened to read that it's still a pain to gain citizenship even if you marry a Canadian boy. :(

west canada is best canada! ;P

I don't know whether or not to feel guilty due to the fact that every time I see or hear something about Canada, a flood of music from South Park gets stuck in my head.

So what does a typical Spaniard look like?
Lo digo por que los Españoles se me hacen muy atractivos bueno los que eh visto. Ademas de que son blancos que tienen prepucio y luego con vello, so fucking hot. Y luego tienen esta mezcla Arabe, pinches tios ricos.

All the fucking world has left their genes here during the course of history, so everybody's a strange mix and the average spaniard has darker skin and rougher facial features than me. Natural blond is not common either (I have it darker now but when I was a child, it was almost white). In exchange, I fell on the "hairy as fuck" side of the gene pool which is so typical here but people still think I'm German or something like that.

Basically, I want to live here.

And you should feel guilty :P There are lots of interesting places in the world and Canada is bigger than most countries. While a lot of it is comparatively vacant that is likely what gives us more of a distinct national identity. It's a little harder to trick ourselves into thinking we can control nature, here. Granted I have a thing for the North, and I don't expect everyone to share that particular appreciation. I really want to go to Greenland because I think it would be like the next closest thing to seeing the edge of the world.

LA GayGAF: Any places you recommend? I went to Abbey last night. It was okay. Not a lot of good looking dudes (mostly a ton of really manicured twinks). I did end up talking with one of the gay servers for a while, so that was cool. I should have gotten his number.

I recommend Disneyland. It's the happiest place on Earth.
