I've dealt with the same issues. Probably used to be just as serious years ago, so I definitely know how he feels, but I've encountered and consoled enough people like him and myself since then to realize we always view ourselves much more critically than anyone else.

And I considered myself very ugly for a long time as well. I had huge issues with my nose especially. Now I think it adds character.

I've always had something for slim/blonde guys. XD

Which sucks, since there are not that many blonde guys around here and the ones I watch tend to be in movies. Was watching the movie 'Flipped' and the main character made me feel like a pedophile (since the character was 13)...then even more when I went online to check for more info/pictures and it turned out he's 16. :(

I go out all the time. No one ever approaches me and I'm too anxious to approach others.

Just two months ago I decided to go to a party that's known to attract a lot of sluts. Yeah I was desperate for a one night stand I suppose. I stood against the wall the entire night, no one talked to me.

I hope that gives you some perspective.

I think you have to be a little more proactive when it comes to getting what you want! If you have some problems with your confidence then take baby steps, go and talk to people, try to be more engaging, even if it is just a party full of sluts :P

Just do what I do... "Do you mind if I sit here while I wait for my friend?" (there was no friend) - works like a charm haha.

That's a very interesting approach and I think I may do just that during the party. Thanks. Also, say he mentions being with a girl again, how would you suggest asking if he's straight or bi? I worked with him again today. He seems like a very nice person and I invited him to a party i'm having over the weekend- he said he'd come so maybe i can try a few things then.

Well, if he mentions that he is with a girl, or asks if he can bring his girl then I wouldn't even bother. Being bi is one thing, but being bi and having a girlfriend is territory you don't want to venture in.

Good job though asking him to come to your party. Now, let everyone else that you invited know the party is canceled, so that when he arrives to the party its only you and him....
