Don't know. Guess we'll need to ask mod regarding that. But this thread was created after Replicant asked Evilore; and that's part of the reason of the guidelines in the main post. Of course every thread will get derailed at some point which is normal (and cool); but the focus should remain the same.

Exactly, talking about stuff in general is not bad, heck it helps to keep the thread alive and even motivates others into joining and "discovering" the thread. Plus the thread is more than just about relationships, also includes crushes, advise, and general issues.

Zephyr talking about his book was fine, ciD and his stalkers/creeps is cool too, Granger having a crush with Darren Criss is fun; Isaac wondering is balls tasted like plastic is fine too;.. ..there we covered multiple topics, without talking about actual relationships; while still been relatively on-topic with the thread in general.

But, guess we need to tone down the amount of pictures/images at least of non-users; more than anything. I mean, replying with gifs and stuff is fun; but a few pages ago it was just a .gif war of Lady Gaga vs Britney Spears, which to me and others was fun to see; but in general it didn't made sense.

It's really hard and I want to keep him as a friend but if he keeps trying to bring the subject I'm afraid I might have to cut also friendship with him. (Which sucks since we can make up tons of hours of conversations without getting bored and I don't have much people like that around)

Well if he brings up the subject again today I'll guess I just tell him I want to keep him as a friend and nothing else. In the end I don't want to get hurt again when he starts seeing someone else. (Which basically was cheating on me since he was going out with that person)

This guy is just a very heavily stereotypical gay guy though, and I could see that getting annoying depending on how much he pushes it.

Advice? For all I know he could be really cool, but there's always the worst case scenario too.

Try to be his friend and establish limits with him or as suggested above me ask for roommate change.

Have a conversation of what is bothering you so maybe he can tone it down but expect for him to do the same if something bothers him. Its all about communication in my opinion.

It seems you don't want him as a roommate because he annoys you. Not because he is gay. Everyone has different personalities and not everyone gels with each other. Whichever you decide to do is perfectly fine as long as you give him the respect you would anyone else.

Exactly talk with him and try to get to know him before doing full judgment on him. He might have a few surprises that will end up being a nice friend in the end.

For what it's worth, I can't quite stand the kind of gay guys you're describing (not saying that your roommate is gonna be like that for sure) and I'm gay.

Went out for a second and something weird happened and is not the first time it happens: Why does young guys (and by young, I mean, not even legal yet) are so friendly towards me and initate conversations?

Granted is nothing big, and this guy was just really friendly; but it reminded me of prior occations, like even one case were one gave me his phone number so we could "hang out at some point".

For that matter, why it's the exact opposite with guys that are actually "legal" or around my age?

The guy I mentioned earlier that we're talking again, said once that I have this "innocense" on me, which is probably what scares many people; but is a rare quality that not many have which is why he enjoyed been around and with me.

Ok guys, just had a drink with a guy who contacted me on Okcupid. He is cute and from the little online chat we had I figured he should be interesting to meet.

Well, it didn't go well.
First of all, the whole date lasted only an hour. Second of all, this guy came off as extremely arrogant. The kind of guy who I wanna tell "Girl, get over yourself". Third, I had to ask most of the questions, I mean he asked me a couple but all were about my PhD: when do I start, how many PhD students am I working with, etc. It's fine for a while but he could have asked me questions about me such as where I'm from and all that.
He also made fun of my accent and went as far as to make me repeat "woman" several time so I could get the pronunciation right (WTF). Now granted I'm not a native English speaker but people on the Gaygaf Skype chat will confirm that it's far from being bad and I'm fairly confident that I know how to pronounce "woman". He also kept saying how French people were sketchy (at least twice) and I was like, hmm you know I'm French right?

I mean, what a douche. He must have felt that I was getting annoyed, hence why we ended up the date early. I do not understand what his problem was. He was the one who contacted me, he knew I was French from my profile and he was the one asking if I wanted to get a drink (and he didn't even drink, wtf lol).

Good think though is that I came home earlier and was able to do my P90X of the day!

When I was a teenager I met two French girls who were hysterically funny and my impression of French people is that they are all hilarious. I never met other French people again though but they will always be funny to me. LOL.
