What a fucking awesome collection!

Thank you Dagon!

I wish I can do some beautifull pics like yours!
I would love some shots with some Zelda games involved/systems turned on :D

Thank you! I just use a compact camera, but I try to find a good lighting, and that's all. I'm glad you liked the photos.

He clearly has way too many micro's! I think he should sell me that Mother 3 GBA :p

What?! Noooo, they are no too many, I need moooooar… :p
The Mother 3 GBA is beautiful. It was hard to find, but in the end I got a new unused one :)

HOLY FUCKIN ARTURO I'M DROWNING IN MY OWN SALIVA]

Hahahahaha… thank you!

Post them!

I bring it along with me to test games I pick up on Craigslist and people are always surprised to see the Micro. Especially people who were big fans of GBA who are just selling their games for quick money, or they lost interest.

Ok, I'll post them as soon as I can. They are a few and I have to take the photos, but I will :)

The 20th Anniversary Edition is a beauty!

Hi there.. would you like to marry me?! xD

Awesome collection!

Ok, fine for me, let's get married, but just because you have a Dalí avatar… :p

My first impression of Advance Wars is amazing. Cant wait to play more on my commute how.
I personally like how they just drop you into the game without much to go on.

Ive been playing so many strategy games lately. Advance Wars, Scrolls, Civilization V.

So today I (think?) I finished my collecting of every Mega Man title on the GBA platform, I also own the Xtreme games and a couple of the legacy GB ones but have not finished buying those yet. Was pretty proud though, and because I finished it using a lot I have a couple to sell too :p

I started playing it, and just can't get past the first battle. >.>

Yes, but I don't have any classic limited editions… :( I'll post the photos this weekend.

I look forward to seeing them with your lighting and and camera :). The old monochrome Game Boys elicit such a nostalgic feeling in me. Man, my holy grail would be the Famitsu or Pokemon Center Limited Edition Game Boy Lights. They're gorgeous.

I would suggest playing the training mode then.

I bought this game when it was originally released, over a decade ago now. I played through some of it, but my younger mind did not appreciate strategy games as much as I do now.

I have fleeting memories of the games mechanics, but not much.

TIP: Heal your units in cities that you control.

This is my Mini Gameboy Collection.

I found them quite a few years ago and they are simply amazing. They are really small replicas (I photographed some of them with a Euro coin, so you can get a better idea of the scale), but they have an unbelievable level of detail. The cables plug, the game cartridges slide on the gameboys… amazing. o_O

The collection includes the original Gameboy, Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Light, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance and Gameboy Advance SP.

Sorry for the small depth of field in the photos. They are so small I had to shoot them with the macro lens so you can see the details.

So, here they are:

Original Gameboy
Includes charger and cables, link cable, four player adapter and Super Mario Land game cartridge.

Those are really neat. Where did you get them? I've never seen them before.

There's something about the Game Boy that is just amazing. I wonder if Nintendo will ever resurrect the brand? Probably not, given their current actions, but I'd love to see something that moves away from the dual-screen design of their last few handhelds.

I got them at Play-Asia about six or seven years ago. They were really cheap, about $15 the whole collection.

And yes, I totally agree with you, there's something about the Gameboy that's unique and sadly, I don't think Nintendo will ever resurrect it… Today, my favorite handheld ever is the Micro (and I love my Vita a lot XD).

I have Sega Consoles in these mini decorative things. They're pretty awesome looking as well.

Nice collectibles, but aren't the power adapters a little too big? :D

Gameboy Light
Includes the charger, Gameboy Pocket Printer, Wario Land game cartridge and some device I can't identify :p

IMG_2662.jpg

That device is an external battery that plugs into the AC port. Part number is MGB-002 and works on Game Boy Pocket, Light, and Color by virtue of them all using the same AC input.

Arturo, your collection is bonkers, thanks for showing off the miniature curiosities.

So I just got a GBM in like new condition for like $35. Box was pretty beat down, but the system if actually very mint looking.

Its little screen has no business looking this damn good. Love it! Will revisit my GBA library, and make it grow as there are still a few games I want and still need. Now to find a Mother 3 copy and a Play-Yan.

Here are some shots I took with my crappy cell camera.

lol I guess just referring to it as Fire Emblem 1 is a tad ridiculous, but it was the first to make it stateside.

I want to pick both GBA versions up, but they are so expensive.

If you have to get 1 I´d recommend Fire Emblem as it´s much better overall package (characters, music, design, etc.) than Sacred Stones.

Got a GBA lot off of ebay, a few decent games and a case and all that, but when I openened the box, everything smelled like it had been in a cigar shop for 20 years. Anyone have a remedy for this?

Anyone have any information on where to buy one of those adapters that will let you plug a nice backlight 101 sp screen into the original style gba? The only info I can find is all in Chinese, but after seeing the quality I REALLY want to get one.

I just ordered DS cases and cut them out to fit the GB games.

I actually just printed labels out for them the other day and they work great.

The only complaints I have rest with the eBay seller.
The guy lied and sold me the low quality duplicate cases and not the real ones.
He also blatantly lied about the condition they were in.
He also took forever to ship them to me, almost a month.

File a complaint directly with eBay that the item was not as described

It might be a little late for that considering how long it took to ship and how long it has been.

Plus I have cut the boxes at this point.

I believe that the time limit for complaints is 60 days.
Keep in mind that the long shipping time is probably because he's from China and not directly his fault (it might take that long for packages to arrive from there in my experience).
If he indeed lied you might get compensation. Sometimes it's enough to just threaten them with negative feedback.
Usually however those sellers don't directly lie, but simply try to mislead you to believe that it's legit. If he directly lied - you definitely have a case (pun not intended) here.

I was finally able to get my hands on a Micro(silver) through the local store in town. It cost me 45 dollars, and had two faceplates(camo and fire??) . Very happy with my purchase as the gba games look great on it, though Metroid Fusion was hard to play with my hands cramping up. I prefer playing my GBA games on this over my fat DS any day. At the moment i'm working on building up my GBA library again as the only games I have for it currently are Pokemon and FFVI

He wasn't from China, he lives in California.

It was because he literally forgot he didn't ship the item. How convenient.

When I opened a complaint he finally 'remembered.'

Haha thanks for catching this on the pickup thread. I keep meaning to update my collection on here.

I have spoke in this thread about how much I hate the Shantae eShop game, but I'm actually enjoying playing the GBC one. I guess I am just going into it with a better idea of what the game is about.

The graphics are amazing. Putting it in the SP, I get a message telling me the game is enhanced for Gameboy Advance. However, the GBC version looks just as good. I need to play it more on my Color to see what is missing.

I had Shantae a while back, and I just was not into the game at all. It just feels real slow paced and the lack of buttons really doesn't do the game any favors.

That's no pirate cart. Looks like a Nintendo Power cart.

I've always found the Nintendo Power Japanese service to be interesting. Legitimately downloading games to an empty cart seems like such a cool idea to me. They even released a bunch of SNES games exclusively for the service that ended up getting full releases later on (such as Kirby's Super Star Stacker and Fire Emblem Thracia 776), though I don't know if there was anything of the sort for GB/GBC.

OK, thanks. I must be remembering incorrectly because I'm thinking of clear plastic covers to protect cardboard of the original cases.

If you are interested in getting clear archival grade plastic boxes to cover the original cardboard...

I've purchased hundreds of these for my GB and SNES collections, and they are fantastic. You can always get a sample pack shipped for just a few bucks to test em out.

Little off topic for Game Boy thread, but this is the problem I am running into with expanding my DS collection.

These two lots are the best example I can find. It seems like I can't find any good games, its only shovelware and New Super Mario Brothers.

Got a clear black Japanese Game Boy Color, I know they arent super expensive but I love it, I never really liked the clear purple one we got in America.

Thank God Nintendo was region free back then, so I can play the US version of Link's Awakening.

My first item for my collection, Im hoping to get a lot of stuff
