GB Micro - System Swap Proposition

Mejilan

Running off of Custom Firmware
OK. I goofed when I brought my Micro. I asked for the "Black" package. And what I got was the GB Micro with the black faceplate in it. It's sexy. But it has a silver back... and that I cannot swap. Now that I know that I can purchase ANY of the US faceplates individually from Nintendo's Online store (and probably the Nintendo World Store, starting next week), I'd like to have a black-back system with a sold-separately black faceplate, for a consistent all black look. But I cannot, because the "Black" package comes with the silver-back GB Micro!! Argh.

Here's the deal. Most stores will be getting their Micro shipments Tuesday, or so. Please consider my proposition if you you match the criteria listed below:
1.) Intend on purchasing a GB Micro ASAP next week.
2.) Desire a silver-backed GB Micro with the default ammonite (blue swirl) and lady bug (pink pattern) faceplates.
3.) Willing to purchase the OTHER package instead, the black-backed GB Micro with the default camo (military pattern) and fire (red) faceplates deal.
4.) Don't mind waiting a few days extra as we swap our complete hardware packages and ship them to each other.
5.) Want a brand new GBA game of your choice, free.

Yep. If you want my package (mint condition), don't mind buying me the package I want, and waiting a few days as we ship our systems to each other in a swap, I will immediately purchase a brand new GBA game of your choice from your preferred online retailer to be delivered directly to your address.

Though my system is technically "used", it's only a few days old, and I've only played it for perhaps 3 hours, total. It's still on its first charge and in mint condition. As it is, I've stopped using it already in the hopes that someone will take me up on this offer. We'll each pay our own shipping fees, so that we don't have to involve Paypal or anything, but you WILL be getting a brand new GBA game of your choice, for free, so that'll more than cover the expense of shipping. I'll send the receipt with my system, and expect you to do likewise. Though, in all honestly, if we have issues with our hardware, Nintendo will take care of us even without receipts... For free.

Any takers?

I can do it; I was going to purchase silver but I'll be glad to help.

My only slight reservation is next week ASAP; having burned my money on an SP and Famicom micro, if you could drop the ASAP but leave the next week in, I can do it for sure.

Let me know.

Same here. I asked for the silver and got the one with the silver faceplace instead. But I've grown to love my black micro.

From one Poke-fan to the next... DONE!

I suppose anytime next week will do. I'll place the Micro back in its packaging and not touch it again until it goes out to you. When you buy the black-backed Micro (with silver faceplate), please use its serial number to register it in your My Nintendo, as I've already registered mine thus.

What game would you like?

I offer you my thanks. *bows*

Well, if you HAVE to get me a game (I really don't mind either way), then Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones will do. Thanks! :)

I'll try my absolute best to do this ASAP; my goal is to trade 5 games at EB with the extra $25 promotion I would end up getting; that plus cash out of my pocket should suffice.

EDIT: Can you take a picture of your micro in the box so I know which package NOT to get?

You will have Fire Emblem - The Sacred Stones.

When we swap shipping details, I'll place the order. You'll probably get FE around the same time as you get your system. Hell, I'll even send it with a full charge!

I'll take the pic (all I have is a crappy webcam) in a few minutes.

Just a query...the micro is all metal? The face plate?

I'm getting a little bit tired of the silver paint over teh plastic, but a silver micro could be really nice. I'm not sure I like the look of a solid color Micro, and as much as I don't like black normally, teh black with silver face plate is nice.

Then again, the famicro is REALLY nice...

Well, kind of moot, since the Micros that will be available here are solid silver, pink, blue, and green ones...

Done!

Pics. You'll see the packaging with the 2 faceplats, the Micro (charging with its charger, just for you!) resting on the included pouch, which is draped on top of the packaging itself. Various angles and zooms. Should be clear enough to get an idea of which NOT to buy.

Remember, you'll want to get me the packaging with the reversed colors on the box. Silver on the sides, prominant black on front. It'll have a black-backed GB Micro with a prominent silver faceplate attached. The two additional face plates will be the camoflauge and pink lady bug designs. Trust me, the faceplates you'll be getting from my package will be much nicer than the ones you'll be sending me!

It is. The one you'll want to buy has reversed packaging. The "GAME BOY micro" logo will be on black, and the sides will be silver. A prominent silver-plated GB Micro will be roughly where mine is resting now, with two different faceplates displayed below.

One thing I like, however, is how the faceplate also doubles as a screen protector. The actual LCD screen is never exposed (except for the seconds it takes to swap plates, I suppose.) And if your preferred faceplate ever gets too scratched, you can buy a new one from Nintendo's store for less than $5. Cool.

I'm thinking about getting a micro, but what's with these mixed up faceplates? The Japanese ones don't seem to be all jumbled around with that silver/black hoohah. Or at least the one's I'm looking at on play-asia.

Black on black is mad hot. No second thoughts about silver/silver either. I'll need some time to think this through. :(

Buy the one with the color backing you want, then purchase the matching faceplate separately. That's pretty much your only option at this point.

...The black'n'black looks damn nice........... but every damn system in the world handheld/console is black or has a black version --- isn't the point of a Micro to boost some form of uniqueness?

I'm happy Nintendo sported the dua-tone Micros here, but I do agree they should've included the silver/black faceplate with the unit ---- people here in the states want a solid, and don't like to committ to a color at all.

I was planning on going for the silver at some point --- but silver is the new 'black', and I'm finding that that sexy industrial Famicom russet-red is going extremely well with any faceplate.
I think eventually I'll import that green model, or see what else they come up with :)

But, I'm totally hooked on the GBAmicro --- my hands don't fall to sleep when i play it in bed (unlike any other handheld) ----- And when you play it, the clarity is all there - I wish every portable gaming system had this size/weight unit.

It was me being stupid more than anything else. Nintendo went for a "duality" of sorts, where everything from the contents of the packaging to the packaging itself is reversed from one option to the next. The clerk picked up the wrong one, and since the units are kept under lock and key, I didn't really compare one package to the other. I was so happy to get it a week early, that I affably chatted away during the purchase instead of inspecting it. Still, CVX to the rescue. And if anyone else learns from my lesson... ^_^

In case you haven't checked your email Mejilan, I pre-ordered the system and am awaiting for it to arrive at EB.

Oh yeah, do I open the box and keep the silver faceplate, and likewise you do the same for the black?

Yep, you keep the silver faceplate you'll be buying, I'll keep the black faceplate I already have, and we swap everything else!

As soon as your damn city gets their Micros, anyway... -_-

No kidding. It's beginning to piss me off very, very badly.

I found some at my Wal-Mart tonight. They had the silver and blacks. I'm surprised they had them. I'm in a little town in the middle of nowhere.

Yes, SnowWolf. He is horny and needs to c**. Quickly, SnowWolf!

You're a freak man, get off my back. She looks like the Japanese Pop Singer Namie Amuro, but I thought she was old news. So I was curious, you sick pervert.

I wonder if there is anyway to get the Famicom faceplates outside of buying the famicom package. Granted I'd still have a silver micro, but I'd love to own the faceplate.

I just bought the Micro today :) The system is awesome, screen clear as day and I have something to match my kamoflage khalkis

If anyone out there is willing to trade a black faceplate for a silver faceplate, please PM me ASAP. I do desire an all black micro & I'm sure someone out there wants all silver. I don't want to have to wait until Nov when Nintendo stocks the silver & black faceplates. Color me interested :D

If you don't find anyone to swap with, you can always purchase the black faceplate at Nintendo's online store:
Faceplates of doom!

Black and silver are currently on backorder, though. Also, battery replacements are $15. I didn't think that was too bad.
