Gears of War: Judgment has gone gold!

I'm looking forward to play this game but I can't really say I'm hyped for it. Looks like MS marketing team didn't care.

Looks like a boring celebration compared to Gears of War 3. I guess that's what happens when you have no Cliffy B
Maybe People Can Fly had better party. :)

When it hit me that Epic themselves are taking this game as a side-game and not as a Gears 4-effort, I wasn't as mad as I was before about the huge things they took out of the game that the series is known for. Lets them take risks as a test for the next major Gears title.

There are changes that I'd like to try out for myself on the MP side weapons-wise, and to play an even-faster Gears, plus with People Can Fly for the campaign, I want to see what they came up with, seeing as I loved Bulletstorm a lot. so I'm picking it up. Still a major Gears fan at heart.

meh.

Sidestory game with a secondary character by a subsidiary studio. Probably will be a decent game and I hope it does ok, but nothing that exciting or worth day-1 full price.

I played the hell out of all three Gears, got all the DLC and season pass but I have 0 hype towards this. Something about it just seems very off. I hope its a great game so I could pick it up someday in the future.

Meanwhile at the SLY Cooper: Thieves in time release party

I'm still on the fence about this game.

I love playing GoW coop with friends.. But I find the online multiplayer just plain boring. Maybe the changes made in this one will help.

There's a demo coming out, right?

Is that People Can Fly team?

Really enjoyed Bulletstorm. Curious to see what changes they made.

- No DBNO
- Multiplayer is now blue cogs vs red cogs ( no locust ¡¡¡¡¡ )
- No Horde Mode
- Only one primary weapon ( lancer , retro lancer , hammerbust , sawed off or gnasher )

after all this changes I will play only the campaign and overrun

That's pretty much where I fall. Am I the only one really hyped for dynamic spawns in the campaign?

It worked in Left 4 Dead, but the end result wasn't that spectacular, as you were still either taking down stragglers, or facing a horde, or taking out individual specials. But still, what was great about that game was that in working as a team it wasn't a matter of learning where the enemies were going to be and stomping them, it was about creating a set of tactics that could be strung together ad-hoc as the situation turned. So it was about surrounding your boomer bile'd friend, moving as a group to recover a teammate snagged by a smoker, finding those holdout closets where the two in front go to one knee while the two in back stand a fire, and timing reloads. Fantastic fucking teamwork developing in a game where you never knew exactly what was coming.

But still, L4D AI was pretty simplistic, they were zombies after all. But take that dynamic spawning and apply it to the enemies in Gears? You've got a lot more interesting combinations of enemies, in numbers and composition, to add some real replay value if they've done it right. And in a world of increasingly linear and cinematic shooters, dynamic spawning like this is like a breath of fresh air. Throw in the optional challenges and you've also got some exploration and replay objectives too. On paper, this all looks damn good to me, and from the videos I've seen of campaign some of those fights look damn hairy.

So yeah, I'm in ;P

Edit: Multiplayer though? I have no idea what they're thinking there. Most of the changes make zero sense to me, but that's not my mode.
