Game was $39 regular but $49 you can get the premium edition and play 5 days early. I don't do Gamepass so that is a good deal.
Yeah, I expect the gameplay to be competent and functional but not exceptional, with everything else overcompensating for it to hopefully make a memorable experience.Art design and music will be through the roof. Looks super good, super original.
The big surprise will be if they make it fun to play in the gameplay department. Their past games were lacking there.
They say 12-ish for just the main story

I always find the review bombing on Steam interesting when the game doesn't have Chinese or Spanish. While what you say is 100% true for the individual; with gaming becoming a global phenomenon if M$ don't spend the small amount of money for translation Vs. The potential colossal amounts of sales they lose its really a case of them gimping themselves with poor decisions and allocation of resources.
Of course this game is going to probably flop regardless because its not globally appealing but the principle stands in general lol
Gameplay was mostly very enjoyable. Really smooth double jump.Did you like Kena?

Graphics were mostly very enjoyable but I quickly grew tired with the super cutesy furballs.
I ended up bailing on the game after some of the ridiculous bosses, but I still mostly liked it. Bought the game twice. Collectibles were also pretty weak, being just hats. Story was kind of a nonfactor for me.
If the gameplay is as good as Kena, I'll be happy. Compulsion hasn't really pulled that off yet, so hopefully it hits that. This seems similar to me
Won’t get to play it unless it’s ported but seems like a similar vibing game

Yeah, Avowed really exceeded my expectations. I don't think anyone expected the combat and gameplay to be the star of the show. A huge accomplishment for Obsidian which usually only excels in the general writing / lore / creativity. I'm still less than half way. Been short on gaming time lately.Compulsion has great style in their games. I loved the look of both Contrast and We Happy Few, but as you say, the gameplay just wasn't there. With South of Midnight, I'm not 100% sold on the style, but I wasn't sold on Avowed's either and it was actually really good. So maybe this will be the same.
Why does it matter if it was never publicly revealed? Not sure I’d call the game itself woke, but the main character was race swapped and the community manager is an anti-white racist.

I fucking love that gif.
I agree but I don't necessarily think it is organic not to be able to decide on a game from looking at things. Nowadays everyone has an agenda. It wasn't always like this. I'm guilty of it too.Avowed was a huge surprise for me. This is why I pound the pulpit and preach that there is just not a good substitute for actually playing a game. YouTube, twitch, etc......it ain't the same at all.
Hope I'm wrong, but this game isn't giving me very good vibes. I'm not a fan of Compulsion and don't know why MS bought them. What I see in this game hasn't done anything to make me think otherwise, but I'll download it day one and give it a fair shot. Maybe it will surprise me.
Remember, that company was making fun of gamers.![]()
