Just played a few matches! Feels sooo good to be playing more Gears. I wish the movement was like Gears 3 though.

It's weird. I have had matches like that too, but most have been phenonemal for connection. I thought it was supposed to be dedi for the beta as well.

Yeah, I'd say 95% of the matches have been perfect. Shame to see lag and some poor performance at times. The oddest thing is that the matches I've had the most lag are the ones I only have 2 other teammates.

Did you get the authorization code?
You can still have high latency when playing on dedicated servers. One major factor is how close you are to whatever server you are playing on.
So I redeemed both codes but the game just never started its download. I have no idea how to start it, trying to use the codes again just lets me know they're already redeemed.
EDIT: Figured it out. Turns out if you scroll all the way to the right on the games page there's a little download history like section.

I agree. I'm hoping it's beta jank and they are actually making it more similar to GoW3, but I'm not holding my breath.
Also, I like how they don't even tell you if you actually unlocked the skins for today or not. Played a couple matches, before trying out 360 games.

Yeah, I agree. Should have been Gears 1 with Gears 3 movement. This is a nasty step back.

Before entering a gametype press Y and it gives you a list.

What worked for me was:
-> Games & Apps -> Press the start button(three lines) on the beta -> Manage game -> Access thing says ready to install -> Install

They are.
You'll get an error message in the pre-game lobby if there was an error and the game is using P2P for that match.

Yeah I realized it's definitely dedi when I saw the option to pick the region. Some matches have some shit latency, though.

Thanks, I figured it out. On the home screen, I had to hit the 'start' button on the game and 'Quit' then start it back up.
Not sure if Gears PvP is for me anymore. Barely played it in the first one and the last I played was a couple weeks of the third one after it released. Gave this a go after I finally got it to work and it was UGLY.

Hmm...I turned my Xbox One off and unplugged it for a while after it was refusing to download. When I powered it back on it was in that download history section, but I'm not sure if it was there before the power off or not.

Not sure if this has been brought up but make sure you actually download the access code, for me it showed up as an additional download within the games section in "My Games" like dlc does for other games.

Me too. I down a guy and he slides around the corner. Can't kill him with bullets or use the execute button on screen. He disappears and is standing up where he originally went down.

Yeah, I decided to watch the ping on the menu when looking at the best region. I would range from 26 MS to 40 MS randomly. The highest US was about 80 MS while Asia was 248MS.
