a German retailer reminds us that these cards still exist on the market. In fact, only one card is on sale, but the fact that this model is offered as a fully featured RTX 5090, except with missing ROPs, is something we did not expect to see.

The ZOTAC RTX 5090 SOLID OC model is now offered at €2899, which sounds like a lot, given that the fully featured model without missing ROPs is sold at the same price. In fact, Alternate has three B-stock offers, and the other two cards have slightly damaged packaging and cost the same.

Unlike with the full RTX 5090 models, users will not be eligible to return the item and replace it with a card featuring 176 ROPs. However, since this is still a product sold by a retailer, users will have the option to return the card within a set timeframe without questions (EU law).

Missing ROP configurations:

  • GeForce RTX 5090(D): 168 instead of 176
  • GeForce RTX 5080: 104 instead of 112
  • GeForce RTX 5070 Ti: 88 instead of 96

Yuck. After this we can never complain about another company being greedy again.

Imagine the poor fool that accidentally buys one of these thinking they got a 5090. It's really a shame.

Edit: Oh, multiple cards in the line came like this, what a shitshow, ugh. Makes me worried about ever buying a 50 series card honestly.

When I thought of a future dystopia, this was not what I had in mind.
I could have never imagined the GPU market getting as fucked up as this.
This dystopia is retarded. Look at my post history, my desist offered me to spin the wheel of fortune in their office for a in discount on some orthodontic work.

ROP is only used for pixel shaders, doesn't impact compute workload at all, the AI bros will scoop them up immediately.

The sheer audacity you need to pull off something like this. Hoping for AMD's continuted success and Intel's GPU investment so this market is normalized.
I'm happy I got a PS5 Pro though, it seems it's good value when you look at things like this.

I wonder why those 8 ROPS are an issue at the chip plant.
Gonna have to start rating chip manufacturers based on ROPS

they're gonna start selling 5090s & 5080s with melted power connectors for 20% over MSRP and stick a label that says "may need to solder on new power connector" on the box

..... and them bitches will be sold out

I would take this over missing rops any day. wont take me couple of hours and its good as new ( not that I am buying this shit ), but if my power connector went down at one point... ill just solder it my self.
