Geoff Keighley teases Half-Life related stuff on Twitter...

Fuck you Geoff. Throwing bait out to make me watch your infomercial even though, deep down, I know there'll be nothing HL related in it.

Wouldn't surprise me really. He did a whole documentary thing at Valve. Lots of people have been hinting at it for a while now.

If this is just bait …

How is this "teasing HL related stuff", it's literally just pointing out Episode 1 came out 19 years ago today.
Because it's bait.

19 is a random number.

Fuck Geoff teasing for his sweet ad revenue engagement, but regardless of that, people should know not to expect anything.

Its an odd thing to point out a few days before his big event. If it was 20 years then sure but 19 is just random.

He's using it to get more eyes on his event.

It's crazy that Half Life 2 is stuck on Xbox 360 and PS3 and we still have to play it at 30 fps!

Where is the remaster, let alone a remake!?

I'll watch it, but I'm not convinced that HL3 will be there. CS2 was basically announced via a couple of YouTube videos and that game is fucking massive, Valve don't really need a show like this to announce games, much like Rockstar.

As if Half Life needs the game show to for hype.

I'm still betting on Valve just shadow dropping it on a random Tuesday afternoon

He's not teasing anything. You're teasing yourself because you want that game.

GK only made a simple anniversary post.

HL3 feels like Duke Nukem Forever for me. I spent many years anticipating the release of the game then just lost interest over time. To generate excitement, I'm going to need more than a 5 second trailer flashing the HL-3 logo with some far out release date. Need to see some gameplay as well and genuine reasons to care about the franchise again.

This means nothing.

He specifically named Titanfall a few years back too.

i'm tired of getting blue balls about every new 'half life tease'. At this point, i'll believe it when i'm playing it.

It's on Steam, just change the resolution to 4K, set it to maximum settings and voilá, there is your remaster. There is also a "remake" coming in the form of HL2: RTX.

Valve games being on console is more an anomaly. You won't see HLX on console either, unless a publisher licenses it out from Valve and does their own port.

Certainly possible this one's just bait, but with all the other whispers going around HL3 being fully playable start to finish, this could be the year. SGF was around this time last year, and there was no such post about it being 18 years ago at that point.

I think it's funny that people say it's bait. Anyone who follows the TGA account on X knows that they post this kind of thing quite often, "this game was released so many years ago".

I don't know if anyone noticed but this is coming from the game awards and not summer games fest.

I get Geoff is behind both but if it had anything to do with SGF he would have used that account.

It is kind of weird to be celebrating the 19th anniversary of a game. Not that I think anything will come of it, but it's very weird to be celebrating that specific anniversary and not hyping something for it lol

Why is this a tease?

It is only a remembrance of the release date. I do think they might show something HL related in the near (for Valve) future, but idk if it going on Geoff show.

Half-life won't be at SGF. Valve will announce it with a random Tweet, and it will spread through the internet by itself. Why would Valve share the limelight with other games at some random event? They don't need it.
