Yeah the "just don't watch" crowd… I think you misunderstand. These criticisms can easily be gleamed from watching separate terrible trailers and a few minutes of the shows to check for improvement. I turned off this last show at Monster Hunter / Final Fantasy (which was a joke, btw). I checked back briefly and they were talking about a television show with awkward actors on stage. I haven't bought in to more than half of any of these shows in probably 2 years. And it's because they all absolutely suck. These are all unforced errors.
The EASY first step in the case of Geoff is to stop saying YES to every asshole with a trailer or an announcement. If Keighley had any sense or balls he'd know to say "uh hey… maybe this announcement is a 20 second thing now an 8 minute thing?". He can't see the forest through the trees that taking he cash for a fucking terrible 8 minute commercial ruins the show. It's called fucking EDITING. Pacing.
And for gods sake you can SEE it when he knows it's not landing. Why doesn't he take a damn note and not do it again next time?
Sony had become incredible at the art of the live show.. They learned many lessons over the years. They extracted monumental hype out of them. Then one day just decided to take everything they worked so hard to learn and light it on fire to copy what Nintendo was doing (out of necessity because Nintendo shows had not landed as well).
