There was a freak accident on the highway. Six freaks in a van hit two freaks in a Volkswagen.
Posts like that really make me wonder if Pascal's wager is the only reason why religion persists.impirius said:I've read several "Now he's burning in HELL!" posts on the Internet today, and they're inspiring a special kind of contempt within me which has not heretofore been directed toward asshole Internet posters.
I'm sure everyone is very impressed with your stand against topical comedy and acceptance of only observational/non-political humor. Not to mention your usage of a memorial thread to declare your loss of "respect" towards comedians who venture into dangerous topics like politics and religion rather than sticking to "missing left sock" horseshit.Dr_Cogent said:No, has nothing to do with that.
Years ago he ruled. One of the funniest comedians ever. In his old age, he slipped and got preachy and boring (probably got real appealing to this side of GAF as a result). He was far less appealing to his general audience as time progressed. I go to a stand up comedy show to be entertained, not preached to. Carlin lost my respect a long time ago. I'm not obligated to be a parrot like the rest either.

Same. This is terrible. I'm glad I got to see him live four years ago and was able to talk with him after the show for a bit. Really cool guy.bishoptl said:Wow, that's terrible news. One of my favourite comics, ever.
