He was always more interested in writing for television than he was in writing books. Guess he just couldn't resist following his dreams when he got a big break.
Fame killed his ability to finish. And I get it I bet he is have way more fun.
I don't mind this, but his name is so big at this point that HBO should let him make a different fantasy property. It is extremely odd building a cinematic universe around a show that ended in a wet fart.Nice. As someone who doesn't read fiction I love it lol
Disappointing to see the show story continue while Winds continues to go unfinished.
Edit: I understand you can't force creativity and sometimes you're hit with inspiration and that produces good writing and other times you just aren't feeling producing certain material but the wait for Winds is getting crazy.
He'll probably finish 'The Winds of Winter' since he's mentioned being over 1,000 pages in 2023.
Ah, yes. G. R. R. Martin. Writer of lines like these:
Star Citizen actually makes a little bit of progress here and there. GRRM should just upload the unfinished manuscript and any time he changes or adds to it, upload a 'patch' just as proof of life.Starting to feel like the Star Citizen of writers.
There's needs to be an intervention with the people at HBO (and any other studio) to stop giving GRRM money entirely until he finishes the OG novels.
This man would do literally anything except finish ASOIAF.
Was the Dance with the Dragons successful? I think they don't realize that ship is slowly sailing away.
Also, fuck him for not finishing the novels, at this point it really is a F U to fans.
This means nothing with Gurm. He's well known for scrapping entire chapters / arcs and starting over if he doesn't like something. Or he'll have a really good idea for one character which means he has to go back and change a bunch of stuff for another related character to make it work. His updates are largely useless. In 2015, Gurm thought he'd be finished with TWOW ... THE FOLLOWING YEAR!He'll probably finish 'The Winds of Winter' since he's mentioned being over 1,000 pages in 2023.
I meant the series. I got the impression it just came and went, definitely not at the cultural level as the original series. Now they want to do sequels, prequels, etc., I don't think the audience is still there.Sales wise, yes. Quality wise, no. It's a bloated mess and easily the weakest book in the series.
