1024X768 displays HD just fine. I have a 1024x768 and a native 720p and guess what, the 768 one looks better (that's not always true). Also, you can set your 360 to 768 NATIVE output for great power. It's all scaled, but it all looks superb.

BONUS: 768 displays PC signals more readily. With less fuckin around.

I think the point is more that it is not capable of displaying the full 1280x720 horizontal resolution. The X360 might scale for that as well. With the current Xbox 720p games, the left and right margins get chopped off.
