Uhh, there's no reason to expect that. That's total speculation.
It is a speculation, but I believe its likely to happen. Only Halo Reach will be lacking for XB1 if they don't do it, what would be a waste.

Can someone help me with this too because I played about two hours of Combat Evolved on the MCC and nearly died of boredom.

Halo hasn't been good since Halo 3, sadly. Reach and 4 were progressively worse installments.
Try ODST and Halo 4. They're pretty different. Edit : And yeah, you have to play CE on at least Heroic for it to be good. Can someone help me with this too because I played about two hours of Combat Evolved on the MCC and nearly died of boredom.
Mp wise, it's the truth.Oh please
Seriously? What happened?
I heard MCC was broke as all hell.

Halo 4 MP > Halo 3 MP any day of the week.
If you played and you didnt like it, no one can do nothing for you, unfortunately.
Some people do consider Halo CE the worst. For me, campaing wise, I would say: Halo 4 > Halo 3 > Halo CE > Halo 2. However, if you don't like Halo CE at all, I can't really see you enjoying the other games so much, except maybe for Halo 4, that is indeed the most different. Still, besides many will desagree, Halo 4 is still Halo and plays like Halo, IMO!
Edit:
However, if you're really willing to give it another chance, maybe you played it as you would play Battlefield, Killzone, Call of Duty, or whatever. Try a different and much more agressive apporach while playing Halo. This is a game where recquires you to use everything at your disposal... abuse the granades usage, change weapons constantly, and do not stay too far away shooting enemies cause that usually doesnt work very well.
Play through the second level, the one where you land on Halo, play it on Heroic, use the Pistol, Sniper and Plasma weapons. If you have a friend to play with, play it on Legendary.
If you don't like it, then you probably won't like the rest of the game. Assault on the Control Room and Silent Cartographer are other levels that are universally loved by Halo fans, so if you don't like them, then try Halo 2 or 3. Maybe ODST or Reach is more your speed.

Give it a go, but Reach is skippable in my opinion. Watch the terminals for Halo 4 before you play it through, though.
Yeah, this is important. Going into Halo 4 blind can screw up the experience pretty badly; watching the terminals first gives the backstory.
Only backstory you need to know is that Halo 4 is an Anime storyline, Cortana is Chief's waifu and she has AI Alzheimer's.

There is nothing wrong with the single player campaigns.I heard MCC was broke as all hell.
I'll suggest trying to grab a retail copy of ODST on 360 - it should be cheap, and has the Halo 3 multiplayer with all the maps. IMO it'll be less frustrating than jumping into the Master Chief Collection in its current state.
This. As someone who got into Halo late 4 was the only one I actually liked.Don't listen to anything the Halo fanbase has to say and react to the games on your own.
The original trilogy is where I suggest starting. ODST is a different take on the series, but it's a side story worth experiencing, with its moody nighttime hub and non linear story, which is told quite well. It's arguably the best story in the series, perhaps helped by the narrow focus and self contained nature. Reach is somewhat more optional, though the campaign was quite good overall, perhaps the most consistent in the series.
The Halo 3 campaign in particular is simply brilliant. The story has issues, but from a combat sandbox and encounter design standpoint, it's really incredible. If you only play one in the series, it should be that one.
Halo 3 on the other hand, was bloody fantastic and I will finish it on legendary before H5 is out. Halo 4 I thought was almost as good as 3. IMO H3> H4>> H2>>>>>>> H1. Yet to finish reach and ODST.

For real.Don't listen to anything the Halo fanbase has to say and react to the games on your own.

I played CE on PC back in the day, but I am looking into getting into Halo now - perhaps erring towards the more competetive elements of the game, so is Halo 5 a good point to dive in (as in, is it looking like its popular with the scene) - if not, what is a good jumping in point?
Halo: CE
Halo 2 - worth playing or at least watch LPs
Halo 3 - a satisfying ending to the trilogy.
Halo 3: ODST (takes place during events of Halo 2, different take on the series while not a complete spin-off.)
Halo: Reach (Prequel to Halo: CE, brilliantly executed - Bungie's last masterpiece).
Halo 4 - I recently finished this having played through the original trilogy, loved it. It's much better than what people give it credit for.
Halo 4: Spartan Ops (included in H4). Just watch the Episodes.
