I think the reasoning is that a lot of members just want to discuss personal things going on in their life since and since they don't have anyone else close to talk about it they bring it to GAF. However, once they realize just how scary it is to have all this personal information floating in the GAF-tubes they try to back track and withhold as much as possible.

I'm with you though, I just wanted something funny to read in the morning. Eh, maybe it will be funny by lunchtime. :P

How close are you to being a regular member? Lay low for awhile, make a bunch of asinine, vanilla posts. Keep it positive and non-confrontational until you achieve regular member status. I feel like I could use you on my team.
 
Nothing you can really do but put her in your spank bank and find another.

Also, unless she's family, criminally underage, dating one of your friends, one of your students, or married, no woman is 100% off limits. 6 months of pining and fretting over what bad things would happen if you asked her out vs six months of potentially being with her...you always have to choose the latter, fuck regrets.

Well fuck it, this is what I PM'ed him.

First things first I'm not sick or a pedophile. I have had two girlfriends in the past the youngest being three years younger than me.

I'm an English teacher in China, the oldest class I teach range from 16 - 19 year olds. I'm good friends with this class, we go to the movies, eat at restaurants together. I've taught this class since the beginning of March up until this weekend.

One of the students is 14 and she's in this class because she's very mature and intelligent for her age although she looks about 18. Cos she's in the same class she always hangs with us, we spoke about many things together, religion, politics etc. then a few months ago I started having feelings for her.

I tried to suppress these feelings because I knew they were wrong and was pretty successful in doing so but there was still something there.

So the last weekend, I took the class to eat and then flew kites by the Yellow River and then it hit me, I'm leaving for England and probably won't see her again, everythingjust came back and hit me hard. I realised I really like this girl but at the same time it's so wrong.

I've hung out with many Chinese women and there are many that I'm sexually attracted to. Just like when I was with my ex, many people didn;t consider her very pretty but I still was attracted to her. It feels the same way with this friend and student of mine.

Anyways thanks for listening to me rambling I needed to get it off my chest.

Well I don't know about China, but in most places 14 is criminally underage. In any case, she is/was your student, which made it completely inappropriate so it's best you didn't try anything.

What on earth could a 14 yo have to talk about though? They haven't had shit happen to them yet. When you get back to the UK, find yourself a good woman , and you'll forget all about this little girl.

I wouldn't go so far as to label him as one, not pursuing the feelings is a step in the right direction. I know for a fact that girls that young can look a lot older, but it's still kind of creepy to think they are under 16-18.

Well Rebecca Black is 13, but she's very attractive and womanly IMO.

In a lot of societies 14 isn't taboo and even in ours it wasn't taboo that long ago. Men are kind of programmed for it, but some people can just hide it away, others struggle a bit more (our friend here) and others can't control it (what society labels as pedos, even though technically 14 would not make him a pedophile. Pedophile is prepubescent).

I was kind of wishing it was just a case of "I love my best friends wife" or "I have feelings for my roomates girl"

That is at least a normal thing.
 
My ex girlfriends parents met when her mom was 14 and dad was 21. I always thought it to be creepy when thinking back when they were younger. Though as adults it didn't really matter the age difference.

Strange workings of the mind.
