GAF has always had a fair bit of negativity around it because the Resi 6 maniacs. That demo went a bit hard on the cryptic PT shit that put people off, but obviously that's hardly indicative of the whole game, aye?

Anyway, there's just been a new round of preview demos and it sounds like people were real into it. That PSX trailer was real promising.

Skyrim is ten times the game that SR3 is. One of the best games of all time, though Morrowind is still above it.

Death Stranding looks dumb and all the goodwill for it will vanish the second Kojima reveals Stephanie Joosten scantily clad yet again in the next trailer.

Overwatch will make it into the Top 3 GOTY, hopefully not above Hitman but I could see it. DOOM is the #1 undoubtedly.

Why are all these fucking video games out. I'm not even close to finishing Pokemon Sun, I've got Call of Duty Infinite Warfare for only two weeks from the library, and I need to play The Last Guardian and FFXV! Why did I get a job

Yeah, working kills most of my week. I'm in a tough situation here of wanting to finish FFXV before the end of the year, but also wanting to enjoy it slowly in January while December is spent on shorter 2016 games. Still need to check out Titanfall 2's campaign...

I haven't played as much games this year but that's mostly because I played like 400hours of overwatch so far.

And I come back from work at 8.30 too on a good day,

You should. That's a game I was somehow able to play through to completion. Very good! Meanwhile, I should just start a new save for DOOM at this rate...

As much as i am enjoying FFXV it's by far the worst Final Fantasy mainline game IMO.

My shampoo bottle has more story on it's label then the entirety of FFXV.

Overwatch killed Destiny for me. I bought the Collectiom after only playing Vanilla when it came out but stopped playing once I got Overwatch. I'd much rather get loot crates in OW than whatever Destiny is doing. I haven't even finished all the missions in Destiny yet and I feel like I wasted money on that thing.

Really, though, Japan needs to get a clue. Playing through Final Fantasy at the moment, and the way some of the women are dressed is ridiculous.

The funny thing is that the way the main cast is designed is the most blatant fujoshi aka female otaku bait I've seen in awhile. It's nearly Free! levels.

If cindy wasn't the way she is I would have thought this game was made to bring in more female players.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of yaoi coming out of japan soon.

To the first bolded: pbbbbbbthhhhh.

To the second: the top four are going to be Doom, Hitman, Titanfall, and Overwatch. Probably in that order, but that's not a for sure thing. Those four at the top though, that's just too easy to see.

The Witness will will bump Overwatch. Brad and Jeff didn't play it much and they were gushing over the Witness for a month, and even had a post-mortem with J Blow.

I mean overwatch is already the goty for the very, very prestigious TGAs. It doesn't have to worry about small fries.

I was this close to including Witness and saying top 5, but then I'd have also had to say Inside and top 6, etc etc.

I really wonder if the magic of The Witness fell off for them or not.

Overwatch just kinda feels like the Rocket League of this year for the crew; a game they all sorta got into to different degrees and is going to end up pretty high on the list because of that.

The Witness just made me feel stupid, not clever like everyone else. Once I had to start looking up puzzle solutions, I knew it was over. I tried refunding it two days after it came out, but I had already put like 6 hours in trying to like and understand it. So now I just hate it.

That's a shame, man. The Challenge was one of the coolest things I did in games all year.

The fact that they made this big beautiful island, but the only way you interact with it is abstract line puzzles just made the whole thing feel like a waste. Like the puzzles themselves could have just been in a book on paper.

That's really selling it short. Most of the themes of the puzzles aren't just "look at this screen and solve this". It's environmental in several ways.

Honestly it's a Myst/Riven successor more than it is anything else. And there are some dang layers to what it actually is.

It has more in common with Fez than it does with paperback mazes. Take that as you will.

Edit: And THAT moment might be best moment or sequence of the year.

Weird, since so many of the biomes in The Witness have puzzles tied directly to the environment. There's way more to it than the hexagon and white/black squares rules.

? There were teases of that when I quit playing.

This was my exact experience lol. Once you get to the first area where the "introductory" puzzle makes 0 sense the game lost all luster for me.
