Like literally anything, there are jerkish ways to phrase that request.
Okay:
-"I wish there was more content."
-"Don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth from my sub."
Not okay:
-"What the fuck do these guys do all day"
-"Youtubers with a tenth of the resources could do better than this"
-"These guys need to get their shit together"
Valid opinions can be expressed by people being a-holes. They read this thread, people should phrase things as if they were saying them directly to Jeff's face.
The average GB fan probably isn't a subscriber, either.
I've had to let my subscription lapse; there just isn't enough content to justify it these days. Sometimes I'll buy a month to check out a UPF or something that people have been talking about, but not more than that.

You're totally right. In my mind I don't even differentiate between Premium and other content. It's all just GB videos to me.
I don't think I'll ever let my sub lapse. These ridiculous guys have been part of my life for over a decade now; I can't imagine not being all-in.

at this point a yearly sub just doesn't feel that great. you could probably grab one month of premium a year and binge on the things worth watching without sweat. these days, watching the bombcast or UPF live is a demonstrably worse experience than the previously recorded version. and that's the only consistent premium content there is.

Just put Quick Looks behind the paywall. Problem solved. The only thing non-paying people get is the Bombcast and articles (LOL).

GB is one of the most important things to me and has been for 8 years, so they've got me for life as a premium subscriber.

Yeah, the logic behind 'sometimes people don't like content, so it feels like there's nothing to watch for them' is absolutely not the same thing as 'there is no content for anyone because we're hunting the end-all be-all of content'.
It's literally 'make some happy but risk having others not be as happy' vs 'no one is happy'.
I understand the desire to find the 'perfect' piece of content that (near) everyone enjoys, but on some level, I don't know if interest can be sustained long-term (in terms of subscriptions and the like) to wait it out, at some point.....that being said, I'm not privy to their sub #s or whatnot, so it's all armchair guesswork and such.
Also, the GoTY stuff is hitting soon, so that's obviously going to give us something.

This sounds like a perfect solution. Heck, I don't even listen to the premium podcast feed because it isn't as easy to subscribe to as the free feed. I used to listen to the podcast a lot more in the past and UPF just feels soulless 3/5 times, I'll still watch it though.
I really hope the new hire will bring new enthusiasm, a new viewpoint and a strong podcast personality to the table. Otherwise it'll stay Jeff & Brad plus the rest.

He's more likely to name a character after a 90's sitcom, and that IS along GB's lines.
But no, they generally have different paces and sensibilities to their comedy. He'd fit in better at Waypoint.

On the subject of content, as someone who doesnt need a TON of it.. I will say it has been lacking lately. I know theyre working on their GOTY stuff and the explosion of content will come next week, but I cant help but feel they missed an opportunity to do some awesome streams with the entire crew since everyone is in SF. Maybe UPF tonight will make up for that.
Do you have to post it on this thread to calculate the valuation or can you do it in a sticky note?

Fun fact, before Kinda Funny settled on the name Kinda Funny, one of the possibilities (thank god they didn't go with this) was Pigeon Patrol.

Dan's lease situation sounds like a nightmare, I've never heard of a situation where someone was absolutely stonewalled at every turn from terminating the lease no matter what. It sucks that they went ahead and found a place assuming it would be no problem to leave, guess if nothing else it's a shitty reminder to read lease agreements super closely.
