I wasn't surprised to learn that Dan was one of those people who only liked TR after all the puzzles had been removed or dumbed down, and all the platforming had been made basically automatic.

Those old TR games were janky even at the time. I don't fault anyone who didn't like them until recently but I also can sympathize with a fanbase watching their series change from what they liked to an entirely different beast altogether.

Still, TR2013 is a great game, even if it's not a "true" TR game. Hopefully, now that they successfully rebooted the series again, they won't feel the need shun the more puzzle-y aspects of it as they can probably get decent sales on name recognition alone.

I love that premium is finally getting some more content. Apart from the UPF, there wasn't a lot of extra stuff.

Now, thanks to Dan, we have 30-day trial and Demo Derby.

You know what that Mario Party thing makes me wanna do? Re-watch the Fortune Street TNT. I think I'll do that later today. I kinda want them to go back to that again with Dan.

I only ever played MGS (you're either a Snake man or a Sam Fisher man, I'm firmly the latter), but I'd love to see them go through the 'lore' of the entire series - either via some form of faux-endurance run or something else.

Love the idea of the Demo Derby. Lots of fun stuff you can grab, like:

An MGS ER might get me to play alongside Dan. I've only played MGS1 and a little bit of 3 and Peace Walker, but obviously haven't finished any of them. Actually, I'd love for him to start with the MSX games.

This demo video is already great, though I assumed he had found a bunch of the official demo discs, not just any old demo discs.

Dan quotes re Tomb Raider:

"All these old games suck ass"
"It was shitty Zelda is what this was"
"These games were just horeshit"

He likes the new one though.

Listening to Dan gush over Metal Gear Solid really took me back to my childhood.

I remember getting a VHS tape with a gaming magazine, yes this was before DVDs, and on it was Goldeneye, Mario 64, Metal Gear Solid, and some other games and I wore it out as a kid rewatching Goldeneye and MGS footage over and over and over again and I remember showing it to my mum and saying "one day I'll have these games" like it was the best thing ever.

Man I miss being a kid.

Damn, I would order pizzas all the time if they still came with PS1 demo discs.

The 90s were great.

Edit: Dan saying "These seem like actual barnburners!" while loading up TR3.. lol

I was hooked up my Sega Saturn (yup, I had a habit of backing the wrong horse as a kid, even bought the Mega CD. It's why I stuck with PC gaming) to my VCR to record myself doing that Tomb Raider block jumping room and sent it to a friend who was stuck for like a week on it.

I was pretty much a youtuber way ahead of their time.
